I have used it and feel it is good, but not amazing. It has above average durability and an average shine. It can't be layered up like waxes and acrylics, so you can't get as "deep" a shine as those with multiple layers. Durability wise, mine held up for about 2 years. That's a lot of time saved as far as reapplying other waxes, but 5 years is pretty much not gonna happen unless your car never goes outside. (When I got it originally they only claimed 3 years)

It is very important to prep the paint properly, including using a clay bar, to get the best results. If it doesn't bond with your paint properly it isn't going to last.

Also I've seen some people who said they had terrible luck with it, but it turns out they were buying a knockoff version from ebay. So beware of cheap imitations.

So if you are looking to have a decent shine and not have to wax all the time, 5 Star Shine is a good option. Just be prepared to do it once a year or every other year instead of the 5 years.

I'm no expert, but it does take time. I'm sure you know that Calamine Lotion is the primary drying/healing agent, but you will still be driven NUTS by the itching UNLESS you add a 1 oz. tube of Hydrocortosone cream (OTC) to the 6 ounce bottle of Calamine Lotion. This means a new container, as you will want to add water if it doesn't mix easily and well. .... say1/4 of the volume of the mix, to start, and go higher until YOU are happy with its application viscosity. Use a small battery driven "drink mixer", or similar means to make the "cream" smooth and frothy and you'll need a larger container to bottle the increased volume of water and Hydrocortosone. I suggest application with say, a 3/4 inch wide artists brush. Works great for me, and doesn't waste the material. I'd guess that it takes about a month to clear up this form of psoriasis - give or take a week or two, but the action towards healing is quite apparent once this combo is applied.

Well, it's hard to say, because we all have different opinions on what "smooth" or "real smooth" feels like. Overall lotion "cream" (assuming it is for the skin) is designed to hydrate your skin, making it smoother and at times shinny.

Also, time of day, weather condition, etc. plays a role in deciding which one to use, ex: winter lotion is usually more oily (for types of skin) summer lotion much lighter for cooling purpose, and etc.

My opinion: as long that it doesn't hurt your skin, and it serves the purpose, you should keep on using.
