With Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) open the System Preferences. Select the Desktop and Screen Saver pane and then the Desktop tab. At the bottom is a tick box labelled Translucent Menu Bar.

Simply open up your Applications folder (/users/[yourusername] and drag the Application to the Trash. (Obviously, replace [yourusername] with your User Name.) Once you empty the trash it should be gone. The only thing is, it leaves preference files behind, so here's where they are located:

Simply delete those 2 files and your Mac will be as if you never downloaded Audacity.

Actually, I am pretty sure that they chose the name "Apple" because it was the phonetic pronunciation of AAPL, which stands for something, but I don't know, so if I find out, I'll tell you.

The computer is unable to find a system folder to boot from. You will need to install Mac OS X again from the installation discs that came with the computer. Insert the disc and hold down the C key while the computer restarts to boot from the disc. Follow the instructions to reinstall Mac OS X. Do not delete (or even move) files unless you are certain that they are not required.
