I, too, have a .32 IJ 1900, and, as such, I have done a bit of research. They were produced in significant numbers in the early 20th century, primarily as cheap, reliable knock-around guns. Average price seems to be between US $50 and $150, depending significantly on condition. Good luck finding anything about serial numbers, though, if they are sequential, your's significantly outdates mine. My particular example was my great grandfather's, and he used it while on his tractor in case of coyote interference (I doubt that it was ever heavily used). Mine sat in a granary for at least 35 years, and, apart from a rusted spring, is still in working order.

Well in economics quality control is a form of protectionism. Nations would increase the level of quality control thus restricting cheap imports from entering their markets. For example the EU may increase the quality control standard for shoes and cheap(usually low quality) shoes from china will loose access to the EU market. If the company name is marked exactly as you have written it, the gun was made between 1920 and 1948. The date will not be marked on the gun and it is probably not serialized so the exact year of manufacture cannot be determined.

Husqvarna products are all manfuactured in different places. Husqvarna doesn't make everything they put their name on.

According to the Husqvarna Group website: "production is often carried out close to the largest markets and a major part of Husqvarna's production is located in Europe and North America". Major production facilities are located in Europe (12), North America (4), Latin America (1), and the Rest of the World (5).

It would have been manufactured in Belgium sometime between 1880 and 1914 and is worth between $50 and $200 depending on how well it looks over a fireplace. Don't try to shoot it unless it has been checked by a competent gunsmith and follow his recommendation for the proper ammunition because it can't use anything you will buy off the shelf at Walmart.

I also own one and I can assume since it was pre- "Savage" it has to be before 1920 wjhen J Stevens was purchased; I continue to look as I have taken a six digit number frm the steel section inside of the fore piece for reference...

Diamond Arms was a trade name used on guns distributed by Shapleigh Hardware of St Louis Missouri. Vorisek's "Shotgun Markings" identifies 7 different makers, but a few can be eliminated as they furnished Shapleigh with only double barreled guns. If the gun is marked only "Diamond Arms Co" it could have been made by Harrington & Richardson (1872-1985), Hopkins & Allen (1898-1915), or J Stevens Arms (1920-1942). The "E" on the serial number indicate H&R manufacture in 1944, but I would not expect the "N" following it.

These guns, with two alpha digits at the end, indicate it was made between 1929 and 1939. Because it is an "XH," my guess is the late 30s.
