What is the best route from Boise to Phoenix?

Boise to Billings is a trip a New Englander would describe as "you can't get there from here." If you ask Google Maps, it will send you through Yellowstone National Park. Admittedly, that's a scenic route but I wouldn't describe it as the "best" way to do anything. For extra humor, ask Google Maps to route you from Boise to Coeur d' Alene. It will send you through the Tri-Cities! No one in his or her right mind would take this route. If I was going to drive from Boise to Billings, I'd take I-84 west to US 95, 95 north to Coeur d' Alene, then I-90 east to Billings. My sister, who used to live in Pocatello, would prefer I-84 east to I-15, I-15 north to I-90 and then I-90 east to Billings. Either one gets you there; my sister's route keeps you on Interstate freeways and doesn't send you up the White Bird and Lewiston grades. An alternate, if you want to avoid I-15 but don't want to pull the Lewiston Hill, is US 95 to Lewiston, then up the Kendrick Grade and to St. Maries. From there you can do one of three things: go to I-90 through Harrison, go to I-90 through Rose Lake (what I would normally recommend) or, in the summer, go up the St. Joe River Road to I-90. Do NOT, whatever you do, go that far up the Joe in the winter. Whichever way you go, you're still going to have to pull the White Bird Hill, but the White Bird Hill is nowhere near as much fun as it used to be. (That means they've cut the number of fatalities WAY down...)

What are the driving directions from Detroit Michigan to Columbus Ohio?

The driving distance between Columbus, OH and Detroit, MI is approximately 205 miles. The driving time would be approximately 3 hours 30 minutes if you were to travel non-stop in good driving conditions. (The driving time does not take into consideration conditions which may extend trip time such as weather, road work, border crossings and rush hour traffic in urban areas.)

The route is:

  1. Take I-75 SOUTH to EXIT 156 which is US-68/OH-15 TO US-23 SOUTH.
  2. Follow signs for US-23 SOUTH and, once, you are on US-23 SOUTH, take US-23 SOUTH to Columbus.

US-23 approaches Columbus in the northern end of the city in Worthington. To access downtown:

1) Take US-23 SOUTH to I-270 EAST.

2) Take I-270 EAST to I-71 SOUTH.

3) Take I-71 SOUTH to downtown.
