Personally I would get most of the real compact solids out by hand and a

bucket and then vacuum the pool to waste if you have a sand filter or DE

filter with a multiport valve. If you are using a cartridge filter you will

need to make a waste port using a PVC Tee and (2) ball valves.

I have tried to paint my gunite pool last year with best paint you can buy at leslies pool supply and it did not even last a year, ifyou think it needs paint you might as well think about recoating it with gunite . I am now in a spot where all paint that is left on walls needs to be sandblasted and new gunite put on again, Hope you have better luck

No above ground pool cover is safe for little ones as adults can be in a rush and forget to "buckle down the hatches." Usually the covers that fit over the sides and are clipped down are the best. However, a fence around the above pool is even better. Marcy

No, salt does not damage the plaster. Improper water balance will.

Use a bio-gard (brand name) algacide at the recommeded dose

other than taking the paper filter out everyday and spraying it clean with a hose....nothing. Buy a better filter. It may cost $300-$400, but it will circulate the water faster and make vaccumming easier.
