The Incas and the Aztecs had large cultures in the Americas.

The Ancient Egyptians are significantly older than the Aztecs; their civilisation began well over five thousand years ago, first becoming recognisable around 3000 B.C, while the Aztec Empire originated in the early 1400s A.D.

You may be thinking of the Mayans (a lot of people confuse the various civilisations of South America for some reason), who are still a thousand years the Egyptians' junior, coming into being around 2000 B.C.

Kinda,you should study the Mayans and Egyptians.They do have a lot of stuff in common though.

the Mayan number system is called the Hieroglyphics, they thought that zero counted as a number, so they put that zero into the counting system...

To be honest they thought that the world was flat, and the sky was held up by four trees in the corners...AND that the world floated on a giant crocodile in a pond of lillies...and people believe their predictions?! What are they on about, just because some people say it, it does not mean it is true, i would not get so worked up about it, we have great scientists, and they say nothing, so do not believe what the Mayans say...as it is obviously rubbish!

Two things that the Mayans are famous for are their engineering and scientific achievements. This ancient civilization, which inhabited parts of present-day Mexico, Guatemala, and Belize, designed and built elaborate temples and pyramid that are still standing. They also had a great understanding of astronomy, mathematics, and calendar-making. They also had a written language.

Much like the indigenous people of rural Quintana Roo, Mexico. They have short stocky bodies, broad faces with high cheekbones, thick shiny straight black hair, dark eyes and darker tanned skin. Many of these people I have talked consider themselves Mayans.

The Mayans didn't use beasts of burden like most civilizations. So for transport within their community they carried things by themselves. It is known that the Mayans had the technology of the wheel, as some Mayan children's toys found have wheels.

They had two different types of pyramids. One was for climbing, and the other was sacred, and they weren't supposed to touch it. They mostly used their pyramids for sacrificing and rituals. A priest would climb up on top of it because he was closer to got while up their.

If you didn't know around that time, slavery was common. Mainly the Spanish and Portuguese had an influence open the land. The Spanish were more over concerned with silver for trading in Asia, the Portuguese wanted wealth and obtained it through cash crops, sugar was a main cash crop that made them wealthy because before then only china were the suppliers of this rare item. It was sold to the ones that could afford it (elite & wealthy.) Anyway Mayan Slaves were used to dig into these boroughs; mine for silver. Conditions were so bad before. Many of them died because of their exposure to disease. At one point the population was in the millions about a couple of years later after the settlement of Spanish colonies, the population was a few mere thousands. They often lived for 7 years working in these mines. Those who died were replaced, and in the long run, the Spanish decided that Africans would do the job better and live longer because they were exposed to the diseases before and they soon adapted to them. Mayans were civilized in a way that was more complex then other societies due to a couple of discoveries they were killed and hardly survived from their fate.

xyco_fryx: Mayan are descendant of an ancient race of probably Lemurians ( as you can our dated history is only five thousand years ago, but others say it pre-dated back 30 thousand years ago). As you can see Lemurian were believe to travel by teleportation a long lost technology using only thr mind or psyche. I you can remember Enoch on the bible (Old Testament that Enoch did not die because he ascended to what you call heaven (other esoteric figure call it another plane of existance)). Mayans are not barbarian as other book says in fact they are more technologically advance than you think same through as the Egyptians. Actually the cold about life is you must ascend first before you die or you will repeat another cycle of life in this earth.

The Mayan civilization for one, has not dissapeared it is still alive and well, the temples were abandoned but the language the culture and the people are still alive and well thank you very mcuh, who knows if the USA can say the same in one hundred years, I doubt it very much

After that, most Mayan cities were abandoned. By 1200 AD most Mayan lands became nation-state cities, isolated from the rest of the Mesoamerican world.

Aztecs founded their first city in 1325 AD and became the most successful civilization in the Americas, until contact with Europeans in 1519.
