2001 MPV driver window will not work how do I know if it is the motor or switch and is it easy to repair?

I have this same problem and thought it was the switch because it was buzzing when I pressed it. I went to the dealer to get a replacement and he said that he's replaced hundreds of motors, but never a switch. Pig-headed as I am, I ordered the new switch and installed it. Turns out, the parts manager was correct. I'm in the process now of analyzing the job of replacing the motor. I looks like just a few bolts and an electrical connection, but it's hard to tell w/o the manual b/c everything is behind sheet metal once the panel is removed.

What kind oil for 2001 Mazda MPV?

I always put 5W-30 in. Depending upon where you live this can make a huge difference. If you live in colder climates, definitely 5W-30. It is thinner when its cold and makes it easier to pump the oil up to the top of the engine. Another little piece of information that is useful: 5W is the weight of the oil when its cold, or the viscosity of it. The lower the number the thinner the oil. 30 is the hot temperature weight of the oil. The higher the number the thicker it becomes. In short, its thin so it flows easier when its cold, then when the engine is hot, it has the protection of the thicker oil.

How do youfix a oil leak around the oilpan in a Mazda mpv?

There are two ways, replace the oil pan gasket or replace the oil pan. From my experience it is WAY easier and better to just replace the whole oil pan. A gasket will run you $50 and a new oil pan will cost $200 (from Mazda). The gasket will probably leak again but the new oil pan has a redesigned integral gasket that should last. Plus a new oil pan will be clean, comes with all the hardware and will save you lots of time. Here is a crib sheet of what to do. Remove the large cross brace that runs under the exhaust system. Remove one section of exhaust (the one blocking your view of the oil pan). Remove the oil pan. Reverse. First time I did it, it took 3 hrs. Now it takes less than an hour. Seriously, I don't like high priced Mazda parts but this is an exception, you won't be disappointed.

How do you reset the check engine light on a 93 Mazda mpv?

On my 94 MPV the Mitchell on demand repair manual says to remove the panel in the dash where your display is, their is a small screw, take screw out of the place it is and put it in the other place provided. I haven't done this yet but my light stays on also, they come on automatically at 80,000 miles. Hope that helps. Disconnecting the battery won't reset it.

A friend of mine told me to disconnect the battery. Not 100% sure, just what i was told.

Why am I unable to turn Overdrive off on my Mazda MPV 2001 since the transmission seems to work fine but pressing the overdrive off button has no effect?

Take it to the dealer......hahahahaa It probably works fine. Your tranny has 4 gears. 4th is OD. Turning off OD keeps it from shifting into 4th, if you are going fast enough for 4th. If you're in 1st 2nd or 3rd then turning OD off will have no effect other than preventing 4th. Test it: With OD on, start from a stop and using the tach and your butt count how many gear shifts it does, making sure you are on a road that will allow you to get fast enough for 4th. If you sense 3 shifts, you're in 4th. Now turn OD off. It should downshift to 3rd. Or just be cruising on a freeway you should be in 4th and turning off OD should make it downshift. If you believe your car is not shifting into 4th at all even on the freeway with OD on, there's a problem in the tranny. The 00-01 has no electronic control for its tranny so there's no flash fix for that. You would know if it's only in 3rd on the freeway because the engine would be screaming and you'd get bad gas mileage.

If there is no spark or fuel on a 1994 MPV could this be a bad ECM?

Yes, a lack of spark or fuel in a 1994 Mazda MPV could indicate a malfunctioning Engine Control Module (ECM). The ECM is responsible for controlling the ignition timing and fuel injection, so if it's faulty, it may not send the necessary signals to these systems. However, it's also important to consider other potential issues such as faulty sensors, wiring problems, or issues with the ignition system itself before concluding that the ECM is the problem. A thorough diagnostic check is recommended to pinpoint the exact cause.
