Menstruation (also known as having your period) is when blood from your uterus drips out of your vagina for a few days every month. You start getting your period during puberty, usually when you’re around 12-15 years old. Your menstrual cycle is what makes your period come every month.
20 months without a period after birth while breast feeding could you be pregnant?
it means your body is back to normal and fertile again. Protect yourself against pregnancy unless you want a baby again. Breastfeeding does not protect you from pregnancy. It's a old wife's tale..
I have period pains but no period?
Yes that's actually very normal specially around days 14 and up of the cycle. You get your period DAY 1, then 14 days later (approximately) when you're ovulating it's very possible to get cramps specially in the back. some knee pain may occur.
Why do you get pain before getting your period and does taking a pain killer harm you?
no. it could be becos of the amount of sugar intake you have. if you try not to take a low of sugar a week to your period you will find out that you wont really have pain but taken too much sugary stuff gives you pain and makes the bleeding heavey The sugar thing is a new one to me. Many (if not most) women have some form of cramp just before and/or during their period. I would have a little cramp about 3 hours before I started bleeding which gave me warning so I could put a pad on. Acetaminophen or ibuprofen will usually help you and they are not at all dangerous.
Why is brown blood coming out when regular menstruation should occur?
Nobody ever told me either. I am 27 years old now and I ask the docter years ago after getting pregnant. The blood is brown because it is old blood. There is nothing wrong with you is the answer i got. they say sometimes it just happens if you notice after you get a good flow going its not brown anymore either. And sometimes you may pass blood clots also b/c your body has to get rid of that inner lining BUT i freaked. Just ask your doctor its completely confidential and 100% private.
Can tubal ligation make menopause come on earlier?
I WOULD SAY YES. I ASKED MY MALE OB/GYN BEFORE I HAD MINE DONE AND HE SAID NO. NOW 3 YEARS LATER MY NEW FEMALE GYN SAYS YES. 1 YEAR AFTER I HAD MINE DONE I STARTED TO HAVE THYROID PROBLEMS HYPO AND THEN A YEAR AFTER THAT I STARTED SKIPPING MY PERIODS FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER IN MY LIFE, AND THEN ANXIETY AND INSOMNIA STARTED. I BET IF I DID NOT HAVE IT DONE NONE OF THIS WOULD HAVE HAPPENED!
I would answer no. I had a tubal ligation 16 years ago. I am now 53 and still having normal regular periods.
Is there anyway too make your period come 3 days late?
I successfully used pennyroyal brewed as a tea to induce my period, after getting impatient when I stopped birth control pills. Search the internet for correct dosage/brew amount. Too much of it used may act as an abortifacient.
My doctor told me that if I skipped the week of "blank" pills in my birth control pack I could skip my period. As far as making it come early, if I quit taking my BC pills my period will start, but then there's the risk of pregnancy. If a woman wasn't on birthcontrol, I don't know how the timing of the cycle could be changed.
You can use temporary birth control to make it come early or late. No there is no way unless your on birth control pills.
You can get a prescription of norethisterone to delay a period.
You can delay it by stress
You can make it come fast by healthy eating, sports, ginger tea
What did people long ago use as a pad or tampon?
Women used cloth folder multiple times to absorb the flow. These cloth "pads" could be washed and reused as required. Even today, in many underdeveloped countries, where proper sanitary pads are too expensive for the ordinary resident to be able to afford, the less affluent population uses this same method, or locally created alternatives, which are essentially cheap cotton kept in pad shape by a netting. These, however, contain no gels or such, so the blood can seep right through the cotton, which is why these need to be changed regularly.
Where are clotting proteins produced?

Is it normal to wipe brown few days after period has ended?
That brown stuff is dried blood, and yes it is normal. Sometimes if we are stressed, very muscular in the stomach area, bits of blood can get caught here and there and eventually your body just flushes it out. Nothing to worry about. Marcy

You could be pregnant if you have had unprotected sex or if protected sex has failed. Or it could be a natural variation in your cycle. If you are worried go and see a qualified medical practitioner (a doctor).

Typically it is supposed to be brownish. That is because it is the rest of the eggs and the old wall of the uterus are falling out.
Can you have a period for 2 days?
Yes, you can have your period for just two days.
Menstruation is normally 5-7 days but shorter periods are normal too.
Can women with irregular periods have babies?
Sort of.
Young girls don't have periods, and can't get pregnant. But at some point they start releasing eggs, (which usually happens about 2 weeks before your period starts) but their periods are irregular- maybe skipping a few months here and there.
Women who are breast feeding can go up to a year after the baby's born before getting a period again. Older women stop having periods but go through a stage like teens do when they are very irregular. They might go months without one, then start again.
Anyway- the important thing is that your period comes AFTER the egg is released, so in any of the above circumstances, a woman could get pregnant without having had a period for a while.
There are birth control pills that keep women from having a period, but it also keeps them from releasing eggs (the missed period is just an extra bonus). Safest bet if you don't want to get pregnant- always use birth control (or don't have sex...) If you want to get pregnant- see a doctor to find out why no periods.
What does it mean when you dont get your period for monthes at a time?
There are lots of reasons why you may not get your period for months at a time, in teens this can be fairly common due to hormonal imbalance. If you have gone more than three months without a period it's a good idea to check-in with your doctor to make sure everything is okay.

What if you use a regular tampon and it feels uncomfotable?
Some people will always find tampons uncomfortable because they are drying and because they can increase cramps, but there are some reasons why tampons may be uncomfortable or painful to you.
If you're using too high an absorbency for your flow this will cause discomfort - tampons dry-out the vagina causing splitting in vaginal walls, higher absorbency or using tampons without sufficient flow means more drying so more damage and discomfort. If the tampon isn't inserted high enough this can also cause discomfort as the muscles at the narrower part of the vaginal canal (the first inch or two) will push against the tampon and as this is also the most sensitive part it of the vagina can be painful.
How long between a girls period?
Generally, it is 28 days, but it can also be longer. On a 28 day cycle right around day 14 ovulation happens and the ovum is viable for a 5-6 days in the uterus, so if you have sex from day 11-20 it is possible you can get pregnant. Sperm can live in the uterus 5-6 days and this has to be taken into account when counting days of a cycle.
Should a period come on the same day every month?
No it does not have to. Your period will come approximately every 28 days and it doesn't always have to fall on the exact same day every month.

Im 14 and I haven't started my period should you be worry?
If your period is late at all you should be worried. If you're having sex at 14, especially unprotected sex, you should be worried. The risk of pregnancy complications is much higher for someone your age, so it's important to get prenatal care as soon as possible if you are pregnant.
No, but the bleeding that you wrote about "could" be a symptom of miscarriage as well as a number of other things. You should see your OBGYN, doctor or local health dept. without delay.
