Menstruation is the routine discharge, or release, of blood and mucosal tissue from the uterus. This process occurs about once a month from the time a female reaches puberty until menopause. During pregnancy, the monthly menstrual cycle is absent while the womb nourishes the growing fetus.

How does air travel from an overseas holiday affect the menstrual cycle?

I don't believe that travel effects you at all apart from a change of lifestyle (ie you are probably eating different foods while away) and this could upset your cycle. You may've experienced tummy upsets and such. The other chance is that if you are taking birth control pills, a different timezone can throw you off and it could mean you miss or delay a pill giving conception a chance.

What is wrong with you if you had a normal 6-day period and it stopped for a day and then started having a brownish mucous bleeding?

Continue taking pills on schedule. This is not unusual with modern birth control pills, which usually contain lower levels of hormones, especially when first starting a new regimen of pills.

It may take 2 to 3 months for your cycle to become regulated on the pill.

If you continue to experience problems such as breakthrough bleeding or spotting, consult your OB/GYN or physician.

Last time I got my mounthly period was 2 mounths ago but yesterday I saw brown in my panty I prepared but nothing today I saw blood and still nothing just little of light brown?

What you describe is perfectly normal and nothing to worry about. If you have irregular cycles you may have a lot of irregular bleeding, this may be a short period or the start of your period, but it may also be mid-cycle spotting as a result of hormonal changes around ovulation. If you see bleeding over the next few days this is most likely menstruation, otherwise most likely mid-cycle spotting.

When your on your period and hang out with girls does it get to them?

I'm not sure what you mean asking if it 'gets to them'. Most women menstruate, this is a normal occurrence so no reason for it to bother other women when you menstruate.

I don't think there is anything to prevent your period although they do have the birth control pill that makes you have only four periods a year and if you are going on the shot I know you have to wait until you get your period and once they give you your shot the blood flow usually goes away within a couple of hours! If none of this is a possibility for you theres always the shower or hot tub!!! GOOD LUCK!!!

What is a hymenotomy?

If you're asking what the definition of hymenotomy is, it literally means "to cut into the hymen."

Some hymens are delicate and will break (with a variable amount of pain) during sports or other strenuous physical activity, or when inserting a tampon. Some do not break until their owner's first experience of penetrative vaginal intercourse or sex toy usage.

However, some are too thick to break easily or at all, and some heal whenever stretched or torn. This problem can be addressed by the surgical procedure of hymenotomy. While a hymenotomy consists of making incisions in the hymen tissue to widen its aperture, a similar procedure called a hymenectomy is a complete removal of the hymen.

In effect, there is little difference between the two procedures--the recovery process is the same, with the exception of the fact that stitches (absorbable sutures) are required by a hymenectomy and not by a hymenotomy. Undergoers of either procedure tend to report improved comfort with inserting tampons or otherwise penetrating their vagina.
