100 Mg. of Methadone would not be considered a lethal dose. However your question does not have enough information for anyone to give a responsible answer. It would depend the reason you are taking the methadone? If you are a heroin addict or addicted to another type of opiate. If you have developed a tolerance to opiates, then you would probably be able to make the transition to methadone at that dose with no debilitating affects. It is entirely contingent on what your efficacy is? If you are looking to enhance your life and get away from the sedentary life style that accompanies addiction of most opiates, you are not going to get the desired results on 100 mg. of methadone. You will be lethargic and not really motivated to do what it takes to have any real life. Remember Methadone is not something you use to get high, it is a stepping stone to get your zeal for life back. Yes, As long as you keep at a proper dose and do not try to seek a high from it you will not have any issues working. i worked for 15 years on it with no problems. Of course i kept my dose at a therapeutic dose and was not trying to get a nod off of it. I Also went to college part time whole working. i did very well.

Well since I have been taking it for about 6 or so months now and tried to get off of it after the first month I would have to say that yes you can get addicted within weeks not months of course if you get off it now it will be alot easier then say 3 months down the road... if your not taking it for life long pain then I would suggest you get off it asap because the withdraws are horrible I couldn't even get out of bed when I was coming off of it... but I take it for chronic pain life long pain and I will be looking at something stronger most likely as I have gotten use to it over the last 6 or 7 months and its not helping my fibromyalgia anymore.

Going from methadone to Suboxone will make you sick. Going the other way will not make you sick. However, long exposure to the narcotic antagonist in Suboxone will have made you far more sensitive to opiates like methadone. There is a good chance of overdose. The methadone should be phased in slowly, starting with much lower doses than normal.

A better idea: get detoxed from the Suboxone if necessary, and get REALLY clean. Why go from one addiction to another? Addicted is still addicted. Don't you want to be free of all that?

There doesn't seem to be a limit on the time a person can be on methadone, if they are healthy. Having run 2 methadone clinics, the longest times I have personally seen people on methadone are one woman for 30 years (and still on it), one man for 25 years (with a brief break trying to use suboxone to get off of everything for about a month, but then he got back on methadone and is still on it, for a total of 35 years) and another woman for about 27 years. The doses these persons weere/are on range from 80 mg/day to 250 mg/day. As long as you eat right and maintain your health, methadone does not seem to have a "limit."
