Methadone is made in powder form. It is then desolved to measure out a dosage that is either used for a maintenance drug program, or as an analgesic.

In most western countries it's measured in a 1:1 ratio. So 1 mg will be put into 1 ml. It's either directly desolved in Orange Juice or in Canada where I'm from some Drug stores will ask what flavour you prefer. So it could be mixed with Grape, Sugar-Free liquids, etc.

But most times it's in ORANGE JUICE. I'm on a Methadone Maintenance Program and the Drug Store I deal with buys there Orange Juice from McDonald's and uses that.

it really depends on if your opiate tolerant or not. Whether or not your trying to get high or for pain relief or getting off of drugs. I just started methadone maintence for a opiate dependency(medical reasons 2 fractures in my sternum ) the DR started me at 20mg for the first hour it was more of a warm everything is ok and motivated to do things kind of feelings. it is supposed to be at its peak at 3 to 5 hours but to answer your question no 10 mg is really not enough 20 mg is ok for me and i was taking around 120 mg of oxycondone a day and about 75 mgs of morphine a day.
