A text based OS is an OS which doesn't have desktop just text. to let the OS do something, you need to type the command. Only certain applications for this OS use another view then text. A text based OS is for example MS DOS or your computers BIOS. A graphic based OS has a desktop and isn't just text on your screen. Windows 3.1 was the first graphic based OS. Computers used to have separate drives for putting in a CD and Playing a DVD. Now, especially with Laptops, Most Computers and Laptops have a multifunction unit in which both DVD'S and CD'S can be read, but again, some computers still do have separate drives, purely because the performance is better, e.g. A CD may upload better onto iTunes for example in A CD drive rather than a CD/DVD drive.

I have had this problem with a new PC installed in my office. The IT guy has said that I simply have to wait til mid-feb when Aspentech bring out a 64bit version of the programme. Until then I have to use an old machine.
