What should you wear on your first day of middle school?
Choose your favorite t-shirt or cute top. Or to mix it up, go to the mall and pick up something different to mix up your look.

Ask a friend:
If you like your friend's style, ask to borrow one or two pieces for the first day. You can also swap clothes throughout the year to get some new things, instead of buying expensive stuff from the mall.
Also, ask a friend what they're wearing. Coordinate your outfits, but don't wear the exact same thing. Get an honest opinion from them.
Other tips:
Most schools are pretty casual and not a lot of people don't wear fancy stuff every day. Every once in a while I wear dresses or skirts, but for the most part, I wear jeans, cute tops, t-shirts, shorts, and sandals.
If you have the opportunity to, go to your school. Take notice of the temperature. If it's uncomfortably hot or cold, dress accordingly. Layers are a great idea!
Don't show too much skin. (No super-short skirts or shorts, nothing low cut). You'll look like you're trying too hard, and it just isn't a good look for anyone. Stay within your school's dress code or uniform rules.

Homework is beneficial to all students. It helps the student to consolidate the learning and information that the learned at school to come home and work on additional problems. Without this period of practice at home, much of what a student learnt would be lost within a few days.
