It is fat. There are 3 stages of milk during one breastfeeding session. Foremilk has the least amount of fat. Midmilk has progressively more fat and hindmilk has the greatest fat concentration. The goal at each feeding is to fully empty each breast because the infant needs the energy-dense hindmilk.

I keep my milk for only one week. If I haven't used all of it by then, I dump it. I haven't tried "testing" to see just how long it keeps, but it seems to be easier to make small batches so there's not a lot of waste.

yogurt is a type of spoiled milk. believe it or not but is alcually prduced in the same procedure as cottage cheese but it is ground up more.

UHT stands for Ultra High Temperature. This is where the milk is processed at a very high temperature for a short time (142°C for 3 seconds) to kill all bacteria present.

The milkman provides a service weekly, rain, snow etc and is not a federal govt worker so you should tip them. Question: do you tip food delivery service to your home? I do, usually $3 each time they deliver. You should figure out a percentage to tip them weekly per your usual standing order: for example, if you only get 2 bottles a week, your tip should be less than someone who gets 10 bottles a week. 10% for mediocre service, you have to call and get your order corrected with up to 20% of your annual bill for excellent service. Or figure the weekly amount you would tip a food delivery service. In our area, our milkman delivers at night so these guys are out in cold/snowy weather at night bringing something directly to our door--they deserve to be tipped just like any other food delivery service

The American Diabeties Association suggests milk to treat hypoglycemia. The sugars in milk release more slowly into the bloodstream than those in juice or white sugar. Because of this the recovery will be slower than a cup of juice with white sugar added, but the effects will last longer. Also milk will not "drop" you back down after it's effect has worn off, the slow steady sugar release will prevent that.

Normally, you boil the oats before adding milk to eat them.
