Can taking Ativan cause a miscarriage?

It is a category D meaning it should not be given during pregnancy. I just went to the Hospital last week with issues of feet and hands tingling and back pain. I told the staff at least 3 times I may be pregnant The ER Doc ordered ativan I'm not sure of the dosage or reason why. I was not severly anxious or anything but like a dummy I took it, I did however ask the nurse when he handed it to me "I guess I'm not pregnant" well 30min and 2 xrays later they came to the room and said "You're pregnant" I was outraged they did an ultrasound said everything was fine and there was nothing else they could do for me. Less than 12 hours later I started misscarring. So I went to a different ER of course no one will say the ativan did it, but it has been shown to cause miscarriages in animals when given early in pregnancy. I suppose there are times when the benefits out way the side effects but I would never take it during pregnancy even with a Dr. approval. There are too many other drugs out there that are much safer than Ativan. By the way the hands and feet tingling was likely caused by dehydration that the first hospital did nothing about. It was like once I questioned the Ativan they couldn't get me out of there fast enough. No one will ever convince me that the ativan had nothing to do with my miscarriage. I had, had 6 previous pregnancies with no complications not even morning sickness and to miscarry less than 12 hours of them saying everything looked fine on the ultrasound is unreal to me. Oh and the baby still had a heartbeat for another 12-15 hours after the miscarriage started! Which makes me think it was fighting hard to stay alive. So my advice would be to stay away from ativan while pregnant at all cost!

Pink discharge when pregnant?

It can happen but if you start cramping, having a lot of discharge, bleeding, or passing clots you should call your Dr or go to the ER right away.

Can dancing cause miscarriage?

It depends on how far you've come along. You shouldn't have a problem in the first, or even the second trimester, but I'd be careful during the third one. Also, if you have a condition that may cause a miscarriage, it could contribute to that problem. Basically, I wouldn't worry about it.

What does early pregnancy low hcg levels and slowly droppng mean?

Answer

DOCTOR TOLD ME TODAY YOU HGC NEVER GOES DOWN IN A HEALTHY PREGNANCY.

Answer

It means you could be losing your baby.

My HCG levels started going down at around what I thought was my 18th week of pregnancy. The dr sent me home scared saying I may be losing my baby. I went back 2 days later for another HCG test and again, drastic drop. An OB/GYN came in and reassured me that HCG levels start dropping around 20 weeks. So I may actually be further along than estimated. Everything looked normal. It is not good to stress about anything while pregnant, because it's just going to cause more problems.

Is it dangerous to get pregnant immediately after a miscarriage?

Dangerous for you? No.

Dangerous for the pregnancy? Yes.

The cervix need to close and the uterus to heal first so you give the pregnancy the best chance you can since almost a third of all pregnancies end in miscarriage whether it's your first or third pregnancy or whether you've had a miscarriage or abortion before or not. Wait around 4 months until trying again.

Why am i bleeding at 4 weeks pregnant and the blood is red and lumpy?

If the blood is brown it is usually old blood that is coming out leftover from your period. Red blood is a cause for concern and could mean that you may miscarry.

Can Vicodin cause Miscarriage?

There have been several studies saying that ibuprofen can increase/or cause a miscarriage. Ibuprofen can cause problems to the fluid that surrounds an underdeveloped fetus. It is said that problems can occur if you take ibuprofen in the first and third trimesters, but specialists aren't certain if taking it in the second trimester will pose problems (Yet some say it will.)...That is why doctors will say to take Tylenol (Acetaminophen). From what I've seen on many many threads dealing with medical problems...a vast amount of mothers are saying how they took 200mg of Advil and then later had a miscarriage. I hope this helped.

Should you be dilated in order to take castor oil?

You should not take castor oil or anything that might cause labor. Every woman is tired of being pregnant by the 8th month and wants it to be over. Let nature take its course, if you are not dilated, it is probably not time for the baby to come. If the baby is premature it could have many problems. Nature/God designed pregnancy to last 40 weeks for many reasons, Labor should not be induced unless the pregnancy is endangering the mothers health, and then only by the doctor. Besides, chances are you will only have diarrhea, castor oil is ineffective at inducing labor.

Could you be pregnant if you stopped the pill a month ago and are having several pregnancy signs 5 days after unprotected sex even though a test was negative?

Yes! Lets say that you got pregnant on the day of sex. That was 5 days ago. When conception takes place, it takes 6-12 days for the embryo to travel down and implant into your uterus. During this process, no HCG is being excreted into your blood or your urine. After the baby fully implants into your uterus, it will start to secrete HCG and you can pick it up usually about 2-3 days later in early pregnancy test. I would wait at least 2 weeks from the day you had sex, to assume that a pregnancy test would even show up a faint positive. IF you get a negative at this time, wait 2 days and test again. In a normal pregnancy, HCG doubles every 24-48 hours.

People like you make me laugh. You can't get signs of pregnancy till 2 weeks later and it won't show up on a pregnancy test straight away. I think your just parnoid and kidding yourself.

If you miss your period or you start vomiting that's a pregnancy sign.

Some people get pregnant 6 weeks after the pill and others don't till a few months.

If it is your first pregnancy can you lose the baby?

About half of all early miscarriages happen because of a problem in the way your genetic material (chromosomes) combined when your egg and your partner's sperm has joined during fertilisation. You may never find out why this has happened, but it's more likely to be due to chance than to any underlying problem with either you or your partner.Imbalances in pregnancy hormones, problems with your immune system, and some infections such as listeriosis (Listeria infection) and malaria are also thought to make miscarriages more likely. Miscarriages become more common as you get older, because egg quality decreases with age. If you drink alcohol while you're pregnant, your risk of having a miscarriage is higher. It's also higher with multiple pregnancies, such as twins. Smoking may increase the risk of miscarriage, so you should stop smoking during pregnancy. There isn't enough evidence to show whether or not stress is a risk factor for miscarriage, but it's a good idea to take time during the day to relax.Doing moderate exercise or having sex whilst you're pregnant doesn't increase your risk of miscarriage. You're slightly less likely to have a miscarriage if you previously took the contraceptive pill.Often you won't know what has caused your miscarriage. If you have already started to miscarry there is very little that can be done to prevent it.

Why it is still showing positive still to my pregnancy test after 2 months ago of taking cytotek?

Did you go to the checkup 2 weeks after the abortion? Then you would know if it worked or not. If you didn't go you could still be pregnant. By now you should have gotten your period back. See a doctor.

Do you have to go to the hosiptial if you miscarry in early pregnancy?

You don't need to go to the hospital, but need to see your doctor ASAP to verify it was not atopic or tubal. Those can be very dangerous to your health. However, most early miscarriages complete naturally and need no treatment.

Can douching cause miscarriages?

No. But douching should never be done whether you are pregnant or not. You make it easier to get infections by disrupting the natural bacteria flora in the vagina. And then you might have a miscarriage. Douching is not needed. The vagina is self cleaning.

How long will Hcg remain in your system after a miscarriage?

It depends but its usually out of your system within 4 weeks. HCG levels after a miscarriage, delivery or abortion will decrease by 99% of their previous levels within 2 weeks. After four weeks following full term delivery the levels wil be undetectable in 3-4 weeks. If an abortion occurs at 8-10 weeks when the HCG level is the highest, then it may still be detectable for as long as 40 days.

What are some ways to help the grieving process of a miscarriage?

  • Losing a baby is a heartbreaking, but often it is natures way and you did nothing wrong and it is not your fault. This explanation of course does not matter to the woman who has lost her baby. It is a grieving process the mother has to get over and, in time she will and it is natural to go through it. There is light at the end of the tunnel because if she sees her doctor and she is physically fit there is no reason she cannot get pregnant again quite quickly and have a healthy baby. If she should get pregnant again she will be closely monitored by her doctor and perhaps a specialist. Right now you have every right to be heartbroken and have several good cries and talk to your husband/boyfriend about it or a good friend and then with all the strength you have try getting out again and more active and try for another baby.

Is cortal really effective?

No Cortal is like aspirin. It does not work as a contraceptive or for abortion. Cortal contains acetylsalicylic acid 500 mg, caffeine 30 mg (aspirin and caffeine). Overdose of Cortal can cause delayed labor, liver and heart damage for your baby, and liver damage to you. It does not cause miscarriages or end pregnancy.

How does humphrey 11 work?

suppose to regulate your period...

What it does is making the cervix soft. That is how it's used to get your period back. Some think they can use it for abortion but once the egg is attached to the uterine wall it's too late.

Can you still be pregnant after you've had a bleed and your hormone levels have gone down but you've had a positive pregnancy test?

that happened to me i took a pregnancy test 2 weeks or maybe 3 after unprotected sex when i first took the test just one line popped up then when i went back it was faintly positive then maybe a week after my late period i started bleeding very heavily and took 3 more test and they where all negative and when i went to my docter i found out i miscarried == == Unfortunately if you test very early you can get a positive hpt then bleed very heavy cause the egg did not take then you can get a neg. cause the baby is no longer there. That is the reason why most doctors do not like to test early. This has happened to a lot of women when they didn't even know it cause they get there period like normal.

Can I be pregnant after having a miscarriage 3 weeks ago?

Yes you could be pregnant again. I had a miscarriage July 19 (with a D&C) and was pregnant two to three weeks later with no period cycle in between. I am now 7 weeks and 4 days. Take a test it is the only way you will will know. And if it is negative wait a few days and take another one. My first test was on Sunday, it was negative, second test the following Thursday, it was positive.

I will be taking steroids in my upcoming Frozen Embryo Transfer. I've previously had one unsuccessful IVF, and a second that resulted in a pregnancy, but ended in miscarriage at 8 weeks.
