It is a category D meaning it should not be given during pregnancy. I just went to the Hospital last week with issues of feet and hands tingling and back pain. I told the staff at least 3 times I may be pregnant The ER Doc ordered ativan I'm not sure of the dosage or reason why. I was not severly anxious or anything but like a dummy I took it, I did however ask the nurse when he handed it to me "I guess I'm not pregnant" well 30min and 2 xrays later they came to the room and said "You're pregnant" I was outraged they did an ultrasound said everything was fine and there was nothing else they could do for me. Less than 12 hours later I started misscarring. So I went to a different ER of course no one will say the ativan did it, but it has been shown to cause miscarriages in animals when given early in pregnancy. I suppose there are times when the benefits out way the side effects but I would never take it during pregnancy even with a Dr. approval. There are too many other drugs out there that are much safer than Ativan. By the way the hands and feet tingling was likely caused by dehydration that the first hospital did nothing about. It was like once I questioned the Ativan they couldn't get me out of there fast enough. No one will ever convince me that the ativan had nothing to do with my miscarriage. I had, had 6 previous pregnancies with no complications not even morning sickness and to miscarry less than 12 hours of them saying everything looked fine on the ultrasound is unreal to me. Oh and the baby still had a heartbeat for another 12-15 hours after the miscarriage started! Which makes me think it was fighting hard to stay alive. So my advice would be to stay away from ativan while pregnant at all cost!

It can happen but if you start cramping, having a lot of discharge, bleeding, or passing clots you should call your Dr or go to the ER right away.

It depends on how far you've come along. You shouldn't have a problem in the first, or even the second trimester, but I'd be careful during the third one. Also, if you have a condition that may cause a miscarriage, it could contribute to that problem. Basically, I wouldn't worry about it.

The cervix need to close and the uterus to heal first so you give the pregnancy the best chance you can since almost a third of all pregnancies end in miscarriage whether it's your first or third pregnancy or whether you've had a miscarriage or abortion before or not. If the blood is brown it is usually old blood that is coming out leftover from your period. Red blood is a cause for concern and could mean that you may miscarry.

You should not take castor oil or anything that might cause labor. Every woman is tired of being pregnant by the 8th month and wants it to be over. Let nature take its course, if you are not dilated, it is probably not time for the baby to come. If the baby is premature it could have many problems. Nature/God designed pregnancy to last 40 weeks for many reasons, Labor should not be induced unless the pregnancy is endangering the mothers health, and then only by the doctor. Besides, chances are you will only have diarrhea, castor oil is ineffective at inducing labor.

Did you go to the checkup 2 weeks after the abortion? Then you would know if it worked or not. If you didn't go you could still be pregnant. By now you should have gotten your period back. See a doctor.

It is a grieving process the mother has to get over and, in time she will and it is natural to go through it. There is light at the end of the tunnel because if she sees her doctor and she is physically fit there is no reason she cannot get pregnant again quite quickly and have a healthy baby. If she should get pregnant again she will be closely monitored by her doctor and perhaps a specialist. Right now you have every right to be heartbroken and have several good cries and talk to your husband/boyfriend about it or a good friend and then with all the strength you have try getting out again and more active and try for another baby.

What it does is making the cervix soft. That is how it's used to get your period back. Some think they can use it for abortion but once the egg is attached to the uterine wall it's too late.

that happened to me i took a pregnancy test 2 weeks or maybe 3 after unprotected sex when i first took the test just one line popped up then when i went back it was faintly positive then maybe a week after my late period i started bleeding very heavily and took 3 more test and they where all negative and when i went to my docter i found out i miscarried == == Unfortunately if you test very early you can get a positive hpt then bleed very heavy cause the egg did not take then you can get a neg. cause the baby is no longer there. That is the reason why most doctors do not like to test early. This has happened to a lot of women when they didn't even know it cause they get there period like normal.

Yes you could be pregnant again. I had a miscarriage July 19 (with a D&C) and was pregnant two to three weeks later with no period cycle in between. I am now 7 weeks and 4 days. Take a test it is the only way you will will know. And if it is negative wait a few days and take another one. My first test was on Sunday, it was negative, second test the following Thursday, it was positive.

I will be taking steroids in my upcoming Frozen Embryo Transfer. I've previously had one unsuccessful IVF, and a second that resulted in a pregnancy, but ended in miscarriage at 8 weeks.
