This is difficult to answer. It depends on whether you performed one or more pregnancy tests. If you only took one test then its very possible this test was faulty but false positives are not as common as false negatives. If the bleeding arrived when your period was due and was exactly like a period then I would personally believe this was your period and is not caused by a miscarriage.

Not really. Babies grow at pretty precise rates and therefore conception is pretty easy to answer at this early in your pregnancy. You are more likely to have your dates mixed up or that you conceived at a different time than you thought. Yes the date could be off a bit but ultrasound dates are usually pretty clear and accurate on dating embryos. Its all down to the measurements taken of the embryo and last period etc, that give a estimate of the conception date. When an ultrasound shows you are 7 weeks pregnant it actually means you are 5 weeks from conception. Pregnancy is on average 40 weeks from the start of the last period. This is because in the days before ultrasound this was the only date we knew. You don't actually conceive until 2 weeks after this date.

The earliest sign of a miscarraige is painful cramping and bleeding. Some cramps are normal, as well as pink or brown bleeding. The cramping that is normal will feel like mild period cramps. Any type of painful cramping as opposed to minor discomfort I would recommend going to the hospital.

You Should go to your doctor to get a check up, but its nothing urgent. yellow discharge could just mean an infection. stomach pains in the first 12 weeks of pregnancy is also very common. just go get a check up :)

how far along are you? If you are several weeks, most of the time you can't ever tell unless you are cramping, and passing clots. That is the way it was when I had my miscarriages at only 9weeks.

It's adviseable to seek medical advice when you think you are going through a miscarriage for an ultrasound to detect any problems and to check for infections. If your miscarriage is quite early, less than six weeks, and you feel all right there is probably no need to see a doctor Any problems though (for example: ongoing pain, bleeding, fever) you do need to get checked.

Would you really want to put yourself though that? If your expected period is here, even if you were pregnant, it would be called a chemical pregnancy. You would have had a very early miscarriage because of problems with the fetus.

Nobody ever told me either. I am 27 years old now and I ask the docter years ago after getting pregnant. The blood is brown because it is old blood. There is nothing wrong with you is the answer i got. they say sometimes it just happens if you notice after you get a good flow going its not brown anymore either. And sometimes you may pass blood clots also b/c your body has to get rid of that inner lining BUT i freaked. Just ask your doctor its completely confidential and 100% private.

It does sound as though you might have had a miscarriage. If the bleeding has now stopped and you feel otherwise well with no fever you will probably never know for sure. If the bleeding is still heavy and/or you feel ill GO TO THE DOCTOR!!!

If possible you should let your partner know. Then make an appointment with your doctor to get pregnancy supplements such as folic acid and arrange a schedule of check-ups.
