Yes...it is called a missed abortion...I know because it happened to me a couple of years ago. I had no cramping nor bleeding. The doctor did an ultrasound and there was no heartbeat. They ended up doing a D&C. Not to worry though. I did end up having a beautiful baby boy in November of 2008. God takes care of his people! We are definitely blessed even though we did suffer that loss.

At 5 weeks 5 days I had no fetal pole detected, just an empty sac. I had the same at 7.0 weeks. However, at 7.5 days a fetal pole and heartbeat could be seen. From talking to friends during the "waiting" time, it appears that most women do not see a fetal pole until about 6 weeks minimum.

Hi, There is a tiny chance it could cause diarrhea, especially if you have just started taking birth control pill. I took birth control for 4 months, during which I had terrible stomach problems- urgency, diarrhea- you name it. I am only 22 but felt like I had a 90 year old's digestive system. My general doctor couldn't figure it out nor could a gastroenterologist nor OBGYN. I thought I was lactose intolerant, but not eating dairy only helped but did not stop the problem. Then I stopped taking the pill. Over the course of 3 weeks, all of my stomach problems died away. Not realizing the pill had been the problem, I started taking it about one month later and BOOM! sick all over again. So I stopped taking it again and have not had a single problem since (it is now 2 months later). I am in fact not lactose intolerant and do not have Irritable Bowel Syndrome. SO DO NOT LISTEN TO YOUR DOCTOR WHEN THEY SAY IT'S IMPOSSIBLE FOR BIRTH CONTROL TO CAUSE DIARRHEA or that it's just stress upsetting your stomach! For whatever reason, doctors assume bc has no serious side affects- no one even considers the possibility of it making a woman sick. Trust your instincts. But if you have been on BC pills for a while, then you most likely have a tummy upset so avoid dairy products. Birth control can wreak havoc on your body. I was on 3 different kinds over 9 years. During which time I had alot of medical issues. I had severe diarrhea, which was mistaken for 9 years as celiac disease. I then acquired migraines and extreme fatigue. As well as severe mood swings and extreme hunger. None of which was ever thought to be caused by the birth control. I have recently gone off it two months ago. My diarrhea has almost completely dissappeared and I can eat bread and pasta again. My migraines which I used to get at least 2 times a week have vanished completely. I am no longer starving all the time, and my husband appreciates the crazy mood swings being gone. I have so much energy now I am always cleaning and need less sleep at night. It seems I had a 9 year bad reaction to the pill and noone ever suggested that it could be. Im so glad I thought to go off it myself.

I do not know the answer, but i thought i was pregnant and possibly still am i think but my period was a whole week late and i bled and clotted very heavily for two days and have been spotting for the last three. I would like to know as well. i have been reading other comments and questions that say yes you can have a regular period throughout the duration of a pregnancy. My mother told me she had two with her first pregnancy and just thought she had the flu (instead of morning sickness). however i also read that this is not hereditary but still possible. i am so confused.

The fetus is well protected so laying on your stomach can not hurt it.

Spotting during pregnancy can occur about the time you would usually have a period. However, with a miscarriage there is more active bleeding and tissue is passed with abdominal cramping. Just spotting does not indicate a miscarriage.

You can only know you are two weeks pregnant by counting back once you have a positive test as two weeks pregnant is the day you conceive. Alternatively if you are (incorrectly) counting from conception, two weeks is the day your period is due so you may be having a period. Later in pregnancy the cervix is very vascular during pregnancy and it is common to bleed a little after sex. To be safe, don't have sex until the spotting has stopped, and you might want to check in with your doctor too.

After a miscarriage you can tell if your pregnant again about 2-3 weeks after the previous pregnancy. Im sorry about your loss. YOu may ovulate about 2 weeks after an early miscarriage so if you have intercourse then you might have a positive test 2 weeks after that.

A woman can loose her baby any time during the pregnancy due to illnesses in the fetus etc. Sad but true, but at least it's not that common since the majority of all miscarriages happen in the first trimester.

I am 5 weeks pregnant now, and yes the vulva, the inside of the vagina, and the cervix can swell, this is due to extra blood flow, you might feel a little more sensitive in that region due to this, this can increase sex-drive, but also put some women off aswell.

You can have a miscarriage, yes. And you have to go to a checkup after top make sure everything is out so you don't get infections.

I had had six healthy babies, all around 2 years apart, and with my seventh, all of the sudden around 8 weeks i started to miscarry. Friends in the States told me to try progesterone, but i couldn't get it fast enough through our health care system (it isn't as readily available in Canada), and i lost that baby.

I was pregnant again just over a month later, and this time i went straight to my doctors and got progesterone, which i took until i was around 6 months pregnant. Every time i tried to go off, something weird would happen, and i'd go back on and be fine.

My little baby was born in March 08, and I'm so glad i had friends who had good advice for me. I would have hated to lose this little one as well...

Sometimes the baby turns and causes you not to be able to hear the heartbeat.

There are three possibilities: 1. The miscarriage you had has not been completely removed from the body. Did you have a D&C? This procedure scrapes all pregnancy tissue from the body. Sometimes the body doesn't rid itself of this tissue and continues to believe you are pregnant (which is why a test would be positive). 2. It is possible that you have become pregnant again without a period. A period follows ovulation when the egg is not fertilised. Therefore you could've possibly fallen pregnant on the first ovulation. 3. The third possibility is that you were carrying twins when you miscarried. If this was the case, some people find they miscarry one twin, but keep the other. The only way to know for sure is with an ultrasound. You need to have your doctor have a look to see if there is a baby there or not, and if there is, what gestation age is it?

I was still on the pill when I became pregnant in September 2007. The pregnancy felt normal and I was progressing on. I had my first u/s in the beginning of November and was told that I had a blighted ovum. I was devastated. You become a mother the minute you find out you are pregnant. I waited a week for the natural progression. I did not want to have a d-an-c so I waited. I spotted a bit and every time thought this is it. It was never that time- I ended up taking the pill. I took it about 3 pm one afternoon (I was told to take it in the afternoon so I am not up all night into the early morning)- very good advice. I started having contractions at 3:30 pm. That pill works fast! I had 8 hours of stomach pain (labor like). Do not take that pill alone- have someone with you to hold your hand. There is a lot of bleeding involved... and if you over bleed (fill up a pad in short period of time) go to the hospital. It did not go that far for me- thank god! I would say it was about 11 pm the same day that I went to sleep. The next morning I felt fine and at about 3 pm. I had the urge to go to the bathroom where I delivered a small sac. I didnt even look at it - I just thought it was amazing that my body was even doing this..... I thought it was all going to be just bleeding- not full on delivery.... it was crazy.

I am doing well now- and have not conceived again as I am not sure I am ready. I am afraid this happens again even though I have choosen to stay off of the pill. I can say that hormones are not good for you and I would say that the pill can cause a blighted ovum or other chromosonal probelms.
