Why stepped core is used in transformer?
To optimize the use of copper in the transformer/reactor coil, the coils are wound in a circular pattern. This necessaites the core section also to be circular. Normally, core is built out of steel laminations(CRGO) to reduce the eddy current losses. The core could be toroidal or stepped in section. While toroidal cores can be built in circular section, stepped cores have to be built such that the section is closest to a circle. This is why the cores are stepped in formation.

If the damping factor Df = 200 and the loudspeaker impedance is Zin = 4 ohms, the output impedance of the amplifier is Zout = 4 / 200 = 0.02 ohms. After Mildred's birth her father left for Ohio to find a job and a house. He did this because he wanted his family to be in a place were his family would have more opportunities. After one month he found a job in Toledo, Ohio and one month after that they moved there. When Taylor was three months old, he brought his family to the North. It wasn't long before many members of Taylor's extended family followed her family to Ohio, and for much of her childhood, she was surrounded by aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Even though he lived in the North, Taylor's father never stopped loving the South and the family that remained behind in Mississippi, and throughout Taylor's childhood, he regularly took his wife and children to visit them. It was during those visits to Mississippi that Taylor learned about family history and storytelling, both of which would, years later, become essential to her writing career.
The telling of family stories was a regular feature of Taylor family gatherings.
