What happened to nathuram godse after he shot Gandhi?

Answer 1

The central government had taken a decision - Pakistan will not be given Rs 55 crores. On January 13 Gandhi started a fast unto death that Pakistan must be given the money. On January 13, the central government changed its earlier decision and announced that Pakistan would be given the amount. On January 13, Nathuram decided to assassinate Gandhi.

Answer 2

The assassin, Nathuram Godse, was a social reformer , and a freedom fighter, erroneously perceived as a Hindu nationalist by the media. He killed Gandhi because , Gandhi in his zeal to look "fair, secular and equal" to the world actually actually cowed down under Islamic Fundamentalist pressure and compromised the interests of 30 million Hindus , that eventually led to their massive genocide. In today's context the parallel to this would be something like this. Islamic Fundamentalists wowing to destroy the West and Israel, carry out 9/11. As a response to that The President instead of ordering airstrikes in Pakistan / Afghanistan actually actually says "sorry" to the terrorists and announces a special state called "Islamabad" in USA specially for Moslems where Sharia Law would be allowed. He appeals to the local Christian population that initially occupied that land to evacuate the place to make "place for our moslem brothers". Some people can't stand it and shoot him down. This is just an imaginary situation. No disrespect for The President. We know out President GWB was anything but that but that would be a perfect comparison to help understand Godse's position.
Refer to the the following lines from Godse's own testimony ( available uncensored in Google Docs) that help expound the situation that led Godse to kill Gandhi :-

" From August 1946 onwards, the private armies of the Muslim League began a massacre of Hindus. The then Viceroy, Lord Wavell, though distressed at what was happening, would not use his powers under the Government of India Act of 1935 to prevent the rape, murder and arson. The Hindu blood began to flow from Bengal to Karachi with little retaliation by the Hindus. The Interim Government formed in September was sabotaged by its Muslim League members right from its inception, but the more they became disloyal and treasonable to the government of which they were a part, the greater was Gandhi's infatuation for them. .............

One of the conditions imposed by Gandhi for his breaking of the fast related to the mosques in Delhi occupied by the Hindu refugees. But when Hindus in Pakistan were subjected to violent attacks he did not so much as utter a single word to protest and censure the Pakistan Government or the Muslims concerned. Gandhi was shrewd enough to know that while undertaking a fast unto death, had he imposed some conditions on the Muslims in Pakistan, here would have been found hardly any Muslims who could have shown some grief if the fast had ended in his death. It was for this reason that he purposely avoided imposing any conditions on the Muslims.

He was fully aware from past experience that Jinnah was not at all perturbed or influenced by his fast and the Muslim League hardly attached any value to the inner voice of Gandhi. Gandhi is being referred to as the Father of the Nation. But if that is so, he has failed in his paternal duty in as much he has acted very treacherously to the nation by his consenting to the partitioning of it. I stoutly maintain that Gandhi has failed in his duty. He has proved to be the Father of Pakistan. His inner-voice, his spiritual power, his doctrine of non-violence of which so much is made of, all crumbled against Jinnah's iron will and proved to be powerless.

"

At the time of Gandhi's death, an Islamic Fundamentalist driven demand to investigate the role of Hindu Organizations in the death of Mr Gandhi was readily conceded by the then ruling party Indian National Congress ( which BTW across its 70+ year ruling span also became notorious for harboring the world largest Swiss Bank accounts and the dubious distinction of the most Corrupt Political Party in the globe ). So called "Hindu Fundamentalist" leaders were thrown in jail, tortured and made to falsely confess relations with Godse . A few months later after all investigations proved these claims baseless , they had to be released.

According to a 2003 interview with Gopal Vinayak Godse, the brother of Nathuram, as quoted in an article in the International Herald Tribune, "In the opinion of Godse and his small band of Hindu extremists, Gandhi's calls for nonviolence were part of a plot to allow Hindus to be slaughtered by Muslims." "We did not want this man to live," Gopal Godse said in the interview. "We did not want this man to die a natural death, even if 10 lives were to be lost for that purpose." International Herald Triburn-Online (2005, November 27), Obituary: Gopal Godse, 86, conspired to kill Gandhi. Retrieved May 18, 2008.

Why was the spinning wheel so important to Gandhi?

A spinning wheel is a device for spinning thread or yarn from natural or synthetic fibers. Spinning wheels appeared in Asia, probably in the 11th century, and very gradually replaced hand spinning with spindle and distaff. Spinning machinery, such as the spinning jenny and spinning frame, displaced the spinning wheel during the Industrial Revolution.

How did India gain independence?

India, from 1860 to 1947 was a dominion of the British Empire. Before 1860 it was mainly ruled by powerful companies called East India Companies with the British East India Company being the largest and most powerful. However, the Indians accepted the trading at first as it also benefited them but eventually the trading turned into a monopoly and India was not benefitting from it as much as Britain and France and the other nations were. So eventually, the Indians rebelled in what was known as the Seypoy rebellions, and Britain reallised what would happen to its economy if the East India Company could not trade there so they sent in British Armies and crushed the rebellion. India from that point then became a part of the vast British Empire and was rulled by a small government called the British Raj and in 1860, officially the East India Company was no longer needed as the British had control over the resources that the Company wanted to import back to Britain. But they still needed to get the resources back to Britain so the activities of the Company were merged into the British Raj. From then on Indians were treated like second class citizens compared to the rulling British and in 1893 in South Africa, Mohandas K. Gandhi was kicked off of a train as he was in a first class carriage and as he was Indian he wasnt permited to be there and refused to leave. As Indians in South Africa, were prviously used as slaves, there was a lot of discrimination against them.He campaigned for many years and Indians in South Africa eventually gained rights in the Empire. In 1915 shortly after the outbreak of the first world war, Gandhi travelled to India where he had become a national hero. After many negotiations and campaigns by using non-violent non co-operation, Gandhi's campaign eventually gained sympathy from citizens in the empire and after the second world war, Britain was almost completely bankrupt and could no longer afford to keep enfocing its will upon India by using military presence so Britain granted India independance. After this Gandhi continued to solve problems such as civil inrest between Hindus and Muslims in India and the newly created East and West Pakistan. He went on a hunger strike and eventually the violence stopped. Not long after this, he was assassinated at point blank range and was renowned throughout the world as India's hero. His body was cremated and his ashes scattered in the holy river Ganges.

Indira Gandhi is what relation to Mahatma Gandhi?

Not at all. There was no blood relation.

There is no direct relationship. Indira Gandhi ( the daughter of muslin ) not daughter of Jawaharlal was married to Feroze ( Khan ) Gandhi, no relation to Mohandas (Mahatma) Gandhi.

Indira took the name of Gandhi when she married Feroze ( Khan ) Gandhi, who was not related to Mahatma Gandhi either (although Wikipedia claims Mahatma Gandhi adopted Feroze ( Khan ) only court afffidavite changed the name so he could marry Indira, but another source says he was persuaded--not adopted--by Mahatma to change his surname).

However, Indira was the daughter of another prominent political leader of 20th century India, Jawaharlal Nehru (1889-1964), the first prime minister of India and a protege of Mohandas Gandhi
Mahatma Gandhi or Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi and Indira Gandhi or not directly related. This is a politically coerced relation. Indira Gandhi married Feroze Khan, a Muslim. Politically this was a disaster because the Congress Party through which Mrs Gandhi ran for Prime Minister would loose all Non Moslem Votes. So under political pressure Mr Khan was forced to change his name to Gandhi. This would help FOOL the local population that the then Prime Ministerial Candidate Mrs Gandhi was related to Mahatma Gandhi. In fact there is ABSOLUTELY no relation with the Gandhi Surname and Mrs Indira Gandhi. Indira's maiden name was Nehru and her married surname was Khan. So if she choose to keep her maiden name , she'd have sounded like Indira Nehru . The word Gandhi came out of nowhere . So the summarize , the reasons are :

-- Political Coercion .

-- Misrepresentation to create a false association with Mohandas Gandhi and garner votes using his surname

Even today , the political campaign billboards feature Sonia Gandhi ( aka Maino ) , Rahul Gandhi ( aka Raul Maino ) and Mohandas Gandhi ( aka Mahatma Gandhi ) together .
No they were not related but Mohandas Gandhi Adopted Fer oz Khan . Who turned to Fer oz Gandhi only because Indira was a Hindu who could not marry a Muslim and Jawarlal Nehru din not want to be disgraced in front of the government because he was a true Hindu therefore Mohandas adopted him and got the two (Fer oz And Indira) married. so Jawarlal `s image wasn't ruined in front of the government.

so in the end they were related.
