The final game at the Forum was played March 11, 1996 vs the Dallas Stars. The Habs skated to a 4-1 victory. Afterward, a ceremony was held with many legendary Canadiens coming back to pay tribute to the Forum, including Maurice "Rocket" Richard, his brother Henri "Pocket Rocket" Richard, Jean Beliveau, Ken Dryden and many other Habs heroes. The ceremony including a "passing of the torch" from each former captain in attendance (including Guy Carbonneau who was playing for the Stars at the time) to the current captain (at that time) Pierre Turgeon. Andrei Kovalenko scored the last ever goal at the Forum.
