What does the song iron by Woodkid mean?

In my point of view, Iron is part of a triology of a great storyteller that is woodkid, yoann.

Putting the videos in the order of "run boy run", "i love you" and "iron" at last, yoan is trying to represent our inner child.

It begins with a boy running from society and recruiting figures from his imagination to fight it (as the lyrics explain) and at the end he looses.

The second song, "i love you", is as expected, a love story wich someone does not understand the personality of the author, or maybe the family bond with a mother or father misunderstood. That causes the lack of conection between both, the author and the person that was his "backbone".

"Iron", the last one, is the reconnection with his innerself, the battle that stands between him and the person that society want's him to be. It connects with the other videos, as the potraited child runs, dies and his burial tomb on the last video. He sums up all his soldiers to regain control of his life, all by himself, and be as free as he was as a child.

Ate least, that is my point of view.

Why do octaves start on C not A?

They don't. Octaves can start anywhere.

Although scales are octaves, the standard official octave or octave per se does start at C. You would think it would start at A. Why this is is because of a mnemonic. Musician and music educator Guido d'Arezzo in the 10th century (who probably also invented the musical staff) made a mnemonic based on the 1st stroph of the Hymn to St. John by Paulus Diaconus (Paul the Deacon) which started with the Latin word Ut, which means "that", and was the C note, which became the name for it and was later renamed Do. (However, it might be that the origin is Arabic, from the Darar Mussafalat ("Separated Pearls") which goes dal, ra, mim, fa, sad, lam, ta). The D'Arezzo solmization as it is sometimes called had only 6 notes and the si was added in the 18th century, but the ti is often used instead. The full octave was the now familiar ut re mi fa sol la si ut, except for the ut now being do. Previous to d'Arezzo the notes were designated A-G, A corresponding to la, B to si, etc, this system is also still used today. It is also because the Ionian mode has become our major scale, which starts at C, and has only natural notes (the Aeolian mode has become our minor scale, which starts at A, and has only natural notes, too). As well, the lowest possible audible frequency (16 Hz) is C (C0 in scientific pitch notation). However, there is no definite exact lowest audible frequency as it is often stated to be 20 Hz (which would be at E0) and sometimes 15 (which would be at B0). The maximum audible frequency is usually stated as 20,000 Hz but sometimes at 18,000 so the range is about 10 octaves. This is a great question and has been asked before on Yahoo Answers but with the wrong answers in those cases.

How do you Play B chord on a guitar?

It can't be played as an open chord, though B7 is close and can often be used instead. Try using the A barre cord form at the 2nd fret(root 5 chord shape, B root note) or the E shape barre at the 5th fret (root 6 chord shape, B root note). Hopefully that helps.

Badd11 is a quite simple and very beautiful chord when playing the key of E or C#m:

Index finger on 7th fret low E string

Ring finger on 9th fret A string

Little finger on 9th fret D string

Middle finger on 8th fret G string

Strum all strings

Try also Bsus4:

Power chord from 2nd fret A string, but strum the B and E strings too.

Why in music do they use amajor sixth in a minor chord?

A minor 6th over a minor triad (spelled 'min(b6)' or 'min(b13)' sounds discordant due to the semitone interval between the 6th and the Perfect 5th.

A minor triad with a major 6th (spelled 'min6') is preferable for this reason but it is also a relatively rare chord.

How do you write first inversion triads in part writing?

Take the middle note of the triad and make sure that is what the lowest part is playing or singing. If you are working with 4 part writing, ideally you will have two voices covering the bottom note of the triad (note- this is not the same as the lowest note that is being played- make sure you remember the difference), one voice on the middle note, and one voice on the top note (of the triad). Just do the best you can, avoiding parallel movement between voices. Good luck!
