The GameCube feature disables the Wii side of the console, so the wii-motes won't work or the attached "classic" controller.

I really want to know this as well. I just got the game and I read somewhere it is up to 4 players offline. The blacktop mode even shows 3 other controllers that can be added but they all say "no controller". I've paired the wiimote to the console and can use it to start the game but as soon as it loads it kicks the wiimote out and it won't reconnect. New batteries, reconnected 50+ times already, wiimote works fine on any other game. Please help!

Ther are two memory card slots on top of the wii near the spot wear you plug in the game cube controller it's under a little panel thingy that lifts up and when you put a memory in make shure to put it in slot A usually it want save in slot B for some reason.
