Is online investment Jobs are reall or scam?

Some may be real, some are scams.

How do you know which is which?

If you're being promised lots of money for easy work with no actual skills required, it's probably at least intentionally misleading and you will not wind up making anywhere near as much as is promised, if it's not an outright scam that will result in you LOSING money.

If the "online investment" job involves cashing checks for and then wiring (a portion of) the money to someone else, then it's almost certainly a scam and you WILL lose money. The checks will be just good enough ... and drawn on a bank that's distant enough ... that your bank will release the funds to you in accordance with their policy before the check actually clears the bank it's drawn on; when it inevitably bounces, your bank will then issue a chargeback against your account, and if you've already wired most of that money to someone else, it will just be gone.

If you need actual qualifications ... like a college degree and a background in statistical analysis or something ... and the compensation seems to be in line with other jobs for people with those same qualifications, then it's more likely to be legit.

How do you make money the black hat way?

One way is to install a vmware virtual appliance. Write a script to pull an access number from a list to dial your isp. Then use a script to search your link in post. Go to your site and use an ad clicker. Once you have it going, leave in automatic mode. You can make money by doing over an over. It is difficult but not impossible. Or if you are lazy join a click ring that does not go directly to your site.

The present system requires applicants to search through print and visual media for job opportunities. Applicants need to apply for jobs using conventional methods and appear for interview on a specified date at a specified location. Employers need to advertise the vacancies and sort all applicant details, conduct selection procedures and complete the formalities. This approach is tedious and requires much effort and resources. There is need of an online job portal where applicants easily find the jobs and employer can find suitable candidates for the job .

Are the rebate processor jobs legitimate?

2/12/09 'BBB Warns Job Hunters to Steer Clear of Rebate Processing Job Scams'

On the BBB news, they warn that "the larger offenders -- which have racked up hundreds of complaints from consumers nationwide -- operate under such names as Angel Stevens and Cindy Dalton with Web addresses including www.processathome.com and www.rebateprocessorjobs.com." See the link below for more information.

The ad says you can make $200 - $1,000 a day just by following simple instructions, with a potential to make up to $10,000 a month and for the next 2 hours, I can join and save over 50% off -- the ad says "Normally registration is $79.99 but due to the current demand for workers I've lowered the registration to only $39. Offer valid until August 30, 2008." Any time you are asked to pay a fee for a job, with unrealistic earning potential, and you say to yourself, "Sounds unbelievable, it's too good to be true," then it is. You decide. Rebate processing programs are not jobs -- you need to look at them more like work-at-home programs or a home business. Or, more appropriately, rebate processing is actually affiliate work.

Companies are not hiring you to work for them and then paying you by the piece. Instead, they teach you how to find products that you can sell online and earn a commission from the sale. Often these are products that are found on affiliate sites like Clickbank or CommissionJunction.com.

They then teach you how to write ads to sell these products. Included in your ad is an offer for a "rebate" when someone buys the product. Usually the rebate is for about 15% of the price of the product (usually $8 on a $49 product). When that product sells, you usually receive a $23 commission minus the $8 rebate you offer making you $15. So, in summary: The rebate processor jobs are not really what they say they are. They are not simply a job where you fill out rebate request forms and get paid per form you fill out. But, they are a creative twist on affiliate marketing, which is a popular way to make money online. Often these affiliate products have many affiliates selling them, so a creative ad such as "I'll give you $8 to buy this product" will cut through the clutter. The training that companies provide is good if you have no experience selling or making money online. The members' website is solid and it posts many great free sites that allow you to post your ads for free -- so you can make money with this program by not spending anything more than the small one-time fee for access to the training and members' area. For those that have a mid level of experience online, there is no need for you to join these programs: there is not much new information. It truly depends on what you re looking for. You do have to place ads for products of your choosing, then make a sale, then you make a commission and finally give the buyer a rebate. Yes, it is real and part of it is actually called affiliate marketing (advertising other people's products for a commission). It helps to know affiliate marketing first, but is not necessary. A good company will teach you step by step how to do this and great ways/places to advertise. The whole reason that this is different from typical affiliate marketing is that you are offering a rebate and people love to save money. What is a scam, anyway? To me, it just means that a person has not tried something or it wasn't right for them. To those people I say, "Lighten up and let other people decide!" Warning

Don't do PPC (Pay per click... Google, Yahoo, etc. ads unless you are experienced!). It can be costly!!

On average how current are online job listings?

How current an online job listing could vary greatly by the site. Some sites clean up their listings after a job has been filled, other sites leave jobs posted indefinitely.

Would your local jobs center be the best source of employment for you or are online websites better?

With the job market being the way that it is today, I would not say one is better than the other, but use both as resources, and on top of that, go to companies yourself and introduce yourself and say that you are interested in a position to work there. The moreexposure you can get yourself, the easier it will be for you to get a job.

What is a mystery shopper?

A mystery shopper is essentially someone who poses as a real customer for a store or a restaurant and secretly evaluates things about the business such as customer service, cleanliness of store environment, employee interactions, etc. usually mystery shoppers are hired by marketing companies as contractors who do the secret shop in their own time in their own city and state. The marketing companies they work for are hired by the stores or restaurants that are being "shopped" as a means to try and get an accurate portrayal of how their employees are behaving and how the store is running during a general every day time (in other words not just when the big corporate manager is in and everyone is suddenly on their best behavior.) I have been a mystery shopper for 11 years now. There are many pros and some cons to this side job. Do you love to shop? If so, you may be tempted by unsolicited emails or newspaper ads that claim you can earn a living as a secret or mystery shopper by dining at elegant restaurants, shopping at pricey stores, or checking into luxurious hotels. But, according to the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the nation's consumer protection agency, marketers who promise lucrative jobs as mystery shoppers often do not deliver bona fide opportunities. Some retailers hire marketing research companies to evaluate the quality of service in their stores; these companies use mystery shoppers to get the information anonymously. They assign a mystery shopper to make a particular purchase in a store or restaurant, for example, and then report on the experience. Typically, the shopper is reimbursed, and can keep the product or service. Many professionals in the field consider mystery shopping a part-time activity, at best. And, they add, opportunities generally are posted online by marketing research or merchandising companies. Nevertheless, fraudulent mystery shopping promoters are using newspaper ads and emails to create the impression that they're a gateway to lucrative mystery shopper jobs with reputable companies. These solicitations usually promote a website where consumers can "register" to become mystery shoppers - after they pay a fee for information about a certification program, a directory of mystery shopping companies, or a guarantee of a mystery shopping job. The truth is that it is unnecessary to pay money to anyone to get into the mystery shopper business. The shopping certification offered in advertising or unsolicited email is almost always worthless. A list of companies that hire mystery shoppers is available for free; and legitimate mystery shopper jobs are on the Internet for free. Consumers who try to get a refund from promoters of mystery shopping jobs usually are out of luck. Either the business doesn't return the phone calls, or if it does, it's to try another pitch. Becoming a legitimate mystery shopper for a legitimate company doesn't cost anything. Here's how to do it: * Search the Internet for mystery shopping companies that are accepting applications. Legitimate companies don't charge an application fee. Many accept applications online. * Do some homework about mystery shopping. Check libraries or bookstores for tips on how to find companies hiring mystery shoppers, as well as how to do the job effectively. * Visit the Mystery Shopping Providers Association (MSPA) website at www.mysteryshop.org for information on how to register to be a mystery shopper with a MSPA-member company, a database of available jobs, and additional information on the industry in general. In the meantime, the FTC says consumers should be skeptical of mystery shopping promoters who: * Advertise for mystery shoppers in a newspaper's 'help wanted' section or by email. While it may appear as if these companies are hiring mystery shoppers, it's much more likely that they're pitching unnecessary - and possibly bogus - mystery shopping "services." * Sell "certification." Companies that use mystery shoppers generally do not require certification. * Guarantee a job as a mystery shopper. * Charge a fee for access to mystery shopping opportunities. * Sell directories of companies that provide mystery shoppers. If you think you have encountered a mystery shopping scam, file a complaint with your local consumer protection agency, the Better Business Bureau, your State Attorney General, or the FTC (ftc.gov). The FTC works for the consumer to prevent fraudulent, deceptive, and unfair business practices in the marketplace and to provide information to help consumers spot, stop, and avoid them. To file a complaint or to get free information on consumer issues, visit ftc.gov or call toll-free, 1-877-FTC-HELP (1-877-382-4357); TTY: 1-866-653-4261. The FTC enters consumer complaints into the Consumer Sentinel Network, a secure online database and investigative tool used by hundreds of civil and criminal law enforcement agencies in the U.S. and abroad. Mystery shopping used to be a really good part-time job, but its heyday has passed. Now, your larger retailers have gone over to Web-based customer service surveys. I have in front of me a Best Buy receipt. At the bottom it offers the opportunity to win a "$5000 Best Buy Shopping Spree." You just go to a particular website, enter some data and once a quarter one person will win a $5000 gift card. The advantages to the retailer are manifold: for less money ($20,000 in gift cards per year plus the relatively infinitesimal cost of running the data-collection website) they get far more feedback from far more people on every store in their system. The stores' employees like it too--I was in retail for many years and mystery shoppers were always a source of extreme stress. The only disadvantage is to the mystery shopping community--those jobs have essentially disappeared. Mystery shopping is also called Secret shopping .. its is the simple way of the market research where the companies will pay the user money for expressing there views
