How do you get hope scholarship now?

To gain a hope scholarship you have to have a core GPA of 3.0 or higher all throughout high school. It isn't calculated on a numerical scale, however. If you receive an 81 or an 89, it counts the same. For every C in a class, you have to get an A to average out to a B. The honors 7 point curve is not counted toward the HOPE scholarship calculation. As long as you maintain an overall B average in your core classes (English/literature, math, science, social studies) then you will receive the scholarship. But you also have to keep the B average all through college or else you loose the scholarship for the following semesters until you have a B average again.

If you violate parole do you go the remainder of your sentence or the whole 4 months in MN?

It is a parole violation.

Consider those two words for a moment.

The two words have a dual meaning. First, you, the parolee, violated the conditions of your parole; you broke the rules. Second, the parole that was granted to you is revoked, violated, made void.

There are several results that can occur from a parolee violating his conditional release:

  1. His release may be revoked and he is returned to prison for part of or the remainder of his sentence.
  2. His release may be suspended and he may be returned to jail for a time.
  3. His parole may be suspended, he is remanded to the custody of a rehabilitation unit, and his parole will continue but not count the time in rehab.
  4. He may receive some form of house punishment from the parole officer: house restriction, curfew, tether, etc.
  5. He may receive a verbal reprimand from the PO.
  6. He may receive nothing.
Parole is a gift, not a right. It is dificult enough to pass from one end of it to the other without being violated. The parolee is still on the string. It is you against the man, only you have no possibility of winning. Your best option is to lay down and take what comes. don't be stupid and open yourself up to the man; what your PO never learns of never happened; BUT, keep in mind he will find out everything. You have to ask yourself, "What is freedom worth?"

Can you be held accountable for not reporting someone violating parole?

Not unless you are required to do so by law. Parole stipulations are not typically laws, they are administrative rules. While they carry with them the authority of law, they do so only for those who are required to live under them, the parolee. The decision to report a parole violator is entirely yours. It is a moral decision you must make.

Parole stipulations, the conditions that make a parolee a parole violator if he breaks them, are not criminal statues; that is they are not laws.

So, unless the violation committed is actually an instance of criminal activity, there is nothing with which you can be charged. If the violation is criminal activity, and you neither report it nor do you provide information to investigating law enforcement officers, you could then be charged with Impeding and Investigation or worse.
