Are Probation Officers allowed to frisk a probationer?

Yes, if he believes there he has reasonable suspicion that you are hiding something that is illegal. You have to realize that while on probation, you are still in custody. For all intents and purposes, you are in jail while on probation. You simply have the revokable privilege of living outside.

Can you write and visit an inmate while you are on Parole?

You may be able to write to an inmate, with PO approval. However, you are not likely to be able to visit. Two reasons for this: first, your own parole conditions likely prohibit contact with other felons; and second, the facility is not likely to permit it.

When a case dismissed how long does it take for the parole board to release the defendant?

Parole boards do not try cases, therefore those they see are no longer defendants. If a parole case is "dismissed," the offender is "released" immediately after his hearing to return to his "house" (That is cell, room, cubical, bed--the place he is housed).

Can the California department of corrections and rehabilitation override a judges sentence by lenghtening the time you serve on parole?

Yes and no. If the sentencing judge mandated a period of parole, then no one but that judge or one from a higher court can override or modify that sentence. However, being under the supervision of the CDCR or any state's DOC, the period of parole is often under their purview. As an inmate, you are a ward of the state. As such they can determine how you serve your sentence. If your sentence was mandated by judge, and the DOC modifies what the judge ordered, you have the right to judicial review. However, should you choose to do this, your parole could be revoked and the DOC could enforce your entire sentence...incarcerated.

Can a felon on probation date a convicted felon?

The answer is no because it clearly states in your condition of probation. I mean if it does not, every case is different, you can always ask your PO (parole/probation officer). the worst they can do is say no then u just do it ANYWAY HOW WILL THEY FIND OUT IF YALL DO NOT GET INTO ANY TROUBLE.

Can a probation officer extend your probation if your fines are not paid?

Can you do anything if your probation officer is harassing you when you go to appointments?

Call and ask to speak to their supervisor. What happens depends on what the officer is doing to "harass" you.

Can a felon hold a security guard license?

A "pardon" does not signify innocence, or wipe away the fact that you committed the offense, only that you were "forgiven" for it.

REALITY CHECK: If you are speaking of a government security clearance. . . you might just as well begin looking for another line of work. Even expunged records are available to the agencies and investigators that will be conducting the background investigation. You can check further if you wish, but in my personal experience I am aware of NO ONE with a felony record who was ever granted a security clearance (and very-very few misdemeanants).

Is it a crime for a ny state parolee to consort with a known felon?

It is a violation of parole stipulations for a parolee to consort with known or not commonly known felons in every state. It is not a violation of law, so is not a crime. It would still result in a technical rules violation that would likely get the parolee returned to prison.
