Spark plugs are located beneath the individual cylinder coils - fairly deep through the center of the head, under the cover.

The removal and replacement (R&R) of the downstream oxygen (O2) sensor on the 2003 General Motors/Pontiac Vibe is a relatively easy procedure. The vehicle will need to be safely lifted or placed on jack stand first. Once lifted the downstream sensor wiring harness should be unplugged. Once unplugged the bad sensor(s) can be screwed/wrenched off. The new sensor can then be screwed in and the wiring harness reattached.

I recently received (May 2008) a recall notice from GM about the bolts in the front doors that attach the window to the window regluator. A defect has been noted that could result in the glass shattering and causing injury. I would recommend that you contact GM to see if your car is included in this recall and for additional details.

I have always used a variable strap wrench for oil filters. This way you can do many with one cheap tool.

The air intake tmeperature (AIT) sensor location is in the MAF sensor that is attached to your Stock airbox and intake. It is the the small amber teardrop you see when you remove the MAF sensor.

Someone will have to correct me but if you have the 2.4L engine with either FWD or AWD, it's the 5x114.5 bolt pattern. The 1.8L has 5x100. I need confirmation on this is assuming it's the same with the Toyota Matrix where the base 1.8L model has a 5x100 bolt pattern while the XR, XRS, and AWD models with the 2.4L engine have the 5x114.5 bolt pattern.

The "cover" is actually a cannister. On the very bottom side (that would be the side closest to the ground) there is a little ratchet thing up next to the oil pan that keeps the cannister from turning counter clockwise. You will have to hold the little ratchet thing up while you turn the canister counter-clockwise (I used a flathead screwdriver and it was quite easy). Turn it counter-clockwise until it comes off. Easy as pancakes. Now, here's the part that's really going to suck: that cannister has a removable paper cartridge inside of it. Nobody sells replacements yet. I've contacted the dealership that I got my Vibe from and am waiting for a response back. cmy dealer had filter and purolator makes one. its extremely important to use new o ring that comes with filter, o ring must go in groove at bottom of threads, not against the base .o ring tightenes against sides not the bottom.

Yes, Raise the hood and look at the left side of the engine. There you will see a black belt wrapping around several pulleys. The small pulley just under the Alternator is the water pump.

Remove the rectangular plastic insert from the inside of the hatch door. It is directly opposite of the license plate lights. It is not easy to do. Use a thin screwdriver or other similar tool to wedge between the insert and the rest of the door. It will snap out with a little effort.

Remove the wire from the light by squeezing the tab on the connector and pulling out the connector.

Once done you will either need small hands or a needlenose pliers. Twist the plastic light holder counter-clockwise about 1/4 turn and it should pop out.

No fasteners holding rotor on. But you must remove caliper and caliper mounting bracket first.

Thermostat is located just below the water pump. Follow the lower radiator hose to the pump. There will be two bolts; likely size 8 bolts, and another nut just below attached to the hose to pull away from pump. Hope this helps!

I own a Vibe, and EVERYTHING I have read online or otherwise says NO. That doesn't mean it isn't possible, it just means nobody knows otherwise. Vibe is the GM version of the Toyota Matrix. Check the air circulation selector (recirculate the inside or bring fresh air in). I have the same issue. If u keep the button for recirculating pressed (light on) it does not make the noise.

I have an '04 Vibe, front wheel drive (AWD may be different). On mine, there are two threaded holes near the hub, directly opposite each other. I fished around in my collection of screws and bolts and found two threaded bolts that fit the holes.

As you tighten these bolts, they push through the back of the drum against the wheel hub and force the drum outward. It took a bit of pressure, but each drum finally popped free (I had 120,000 miles on them so they didn't want to move easily).

Make sure you tighten the two bolts about a quarter turn at a time, alternating back and forth so that you don't put too much pressure on one side of the drum. It might pop free if you only tighten one bolt, but it also might bend the drum.

If it's like my 2006 Vibe, the fuel filter and pump are one unit and it's located inside the gas tank.

With my 2004 Vibe I have issues with the tires shaking after I wash my car. I found out that if you are going to wash the tires you have to wash them EXTREMELY well. If there is even a lil more dirt left in one versus the other it shakes badly. I found out after I took it to a mechanic who was nice enough not to charge me. or laugh at me for the problem.

I am just now having my serpentine belt replaced, and I bought the car in May of 2003. I have pretty low mileage on the car (under 50,000).

jack up the front end of the car if you do not have a vehicle hoist, on the left side of the vehicle is the oil pan, there will be a 14mm bolt in this pan,unscrew this plug to drain oil the existing dirty oil, to the front of the oil pan on the bottom side of the motor in between the radiator and the motor is the oil filter, use a filter wrench to unscrew it and screw a new one back on but be sure to lubricate the rubber seal on the new filter and also check and make sure the old rubber seal is still on the old oil filter. once done put the oil drain plug back in and lower car down, throught the oil filler cap pour in 4.2 liters of 5W30 and re-install oil cap. run motor for 1 minute and check level with dipstick

yes, however you may need to slightly raise the fenders and adjust the headlights for smooth lines.
