Pregnancy Tests

HI - I had a pregnancy test on Oct14 and 22 and both where neg. took on the 26th and that was positive - did HCG on that day and it was 30 - than on the 28th it was 73, than I did it on the 2nd of Nov and it was 379 and than on the 4th and it was 813. Had a u/s today and they just saw a sac measuring at 4w 5d - I am looking for any answers on this - does it make sense. I thought I would of been farther - but I do not get regular periods - so I can't go by that.

You will get a positive result if you are pregnant even after a tubal ligation. A pregnancy test tests for the Human Chorionic Gonadotropin Hormone. Or more commonly known as the HCG level. You could have a negative result and still be pregnant if it is too soon and your HCG level is too low. It does not happen often but there have been cases where woman have indeed become pregnant after a tubal ligation. Your best bet is to go see your doctor and get a blood test done. They are the most accurate even in the early stages of a pregnancy.

I thought I'd elaborate on my question. The blood test was also 18 days after intercourse.

My fiance and I had sex before my last period was due (it was already 32 days, and my cycle is usually 26-31), and he was bare for a time, but assured me that he was completely dry (aka, not even pre-cum) and was in for less than a minute. I was also completely dry, because I was expecting my period. We then used a condom, and he ALWAYS pulls out before climaxing.

Period was the next evening, but was SUCH a weird one because I had only three days of very heavy bleeding (clotting, etc) and the fourth was barely anything. Usually, I'm 5 days and pretty steady.

This made me think that it wasn't a real period (though I was very crampy, heavy flow), and I've been out of my mind ever since. I've lost about 8lbs, can't sleep, can't eat, and generally losing it. I've taken the blood test, and four others, and all are negative (thank God). However, now I may have tested too soon, and am at wit's end.

I've been feeling dizzy and tired, weak, and HAD sore nipples (probably fiance) but they subsided. Yesterday, at three days past 'ovulation' I felt lower abdominal twinging and one cramp, followed with a mild mid to upper back ache. My cervix goes from medium to rock hard, and is quite closed.

I think that it would be pretty unlikely to determine a pregnancy at 4 weeks via an ultrasound. At 5 weeks a gestational sac can been seen. Good luck!

There are several different fertility tests you can do such as testing with a sonogram to make sure you dont have fibroids, cysts or endometreosis or testing to see if your fallopian tubes are block which they inject dye into your system to make sure no blockages are current. It is also a good idea to have your significant other get his sperm tested for motility ect... its not always the woman.

If those are the only two options it's right before. But you can get pregnant every other day incl your period. It's rare but happens, especially at the end of it.

Answer--->YES, when i had a tuble pregnancy my doctor said not to have sex, and she also told me that yes if i were to take a test it would show positive because of the tuble...thats just one of the reasons why the doctor would tell you not to have sex for a while so that your hormones can get back to normal.

My sister had the same issue with her over the counter pregnancy test. She thought she wasn't pregnant, but suprise! 3 months later she started showing. Also, I'm sure you can google the internet for pregnancy symptoms (i.e. swelling breast, the urgency to pee, etc). Also, take the advice above and spend some money on a nice pregnancy test. If all else fails and you're still unsure - go to the doctor.

If the two pregnancy tests said positive, your chances are pretty good. See your doctor ASAP for proper diagnosis and care.

HOW DOES IT WORK?
