Also, a lot of blood or protein in the urine can give a false positive on a pregnancy test. Most urine tests will be positive on or before the day of your expected period. Blood tests can show positive about 3 days after fertilization occurs. However, a urine test takes 3 minutes to do and a blood test will take hours, even maybe a day or two to get back.
