Pregnancy tests (OTC varieties) detect only to about 20 HCG ... and this usually corresponds to around three to six weeks of zygote development. So, taking a test during the spotting (when your period is due) would not yield viable results (not high enough concentrations of HCG). You would have to wait until about two weeks more to take another to be more accurate ... although a blood test now would be a much better option if you really want a definitive answer.

Yes. You can have a home pregnancy test that comes back negative. In fact my older sister took many pregnancy test that came back negative when she was in fact pregnant. Her doctor told her that a urine test would not come back positive for her, and that she would always need to have a blood test to check for pregncny. That was four years ago, but when she took a home pregnancy test last month it too came back negative, when she in fact was pregnant. I would recommend that you go to the doctor and have a blood test done to confirm that you are or are not pregnant

it would depend on what order the test results came in. if you had the positive tests fist then the negative then it could be you have had an early miscarrage. in which case you should see your doctor. if you had the negative tests first then the positive tests, then you more than likely are pregnant. in which case again see the doctor! it would be worth getting the doctor to run some bloods just to be on the safe side. i personally dont believe in a "false positive" result. unless its in the order as stated above.

No matter the length of your cycle you still take the test the day after you missed your period. Some brands can be taken a few days or even a week before you are supposed to begin your period. Some are more accurate take a few days after you missed a period. The only thing that matters is that you follow the directions on the box for the test you buy.

It does not necessarily mean you are not pregnant. You can have false negatives with pregnancy tests, but you cannot have a false positive. Depending on how long you have been possibly pregnant, the hormone levels may not be strong enough to be read by the pregnancy test. You can wait a week or so and take another test at home, or go into the doctor's office or planned parenthood office and get a blood test, which is more conclusive.

You may be pregnant, and it may just not show up yet on a home pregnancy test. Or, you may not be pregnant. Start taking folic acid and regular prenatal vitamins now, too, if you aren't already. You can get them at any drug store. If you mean the exact same testing paper was used then it could be a false positive. Most tests have a window of time in which they should be read, and reading it before or after this can be misleading.

If you mean the same brand of test was used, then it almost certainly is a positive result. The hCG that the test picks up if a baby is present increases very rapidly each day, so it is possible it didn't pick it up earlier. This would be especially so if your period isn't due yet.

If you are at or past your period's due date, then it would be hard to tell which result is right. You could retest using a reputable brand - the cheaper ones are sometimes unreliable - or see a doctor to get a more reliable result.

Not neccessarily,I had unprotected sex for 3 months and I thought i was pregnant and I wasn't the doctor told me it could be a hormone inbalance that caused my period to be irregular, it could be a number of things. They also say stress and the way you eat could cause your period to be irregular.

you should never read a pregnancy test after the amount of time it says in the instructions, some tests have something called an evaporation line that can appear as the test dries up inside after a couple of hours. your best bet would be to retest again in the morning, using your first urine of the day!

A positive ANA (anitnuclear antibody) test means that the person makes antibodies against the nucleus of their own cells. All cells live for a while and then die. When they die, they break down in the blood. The antinuclear antibodies think that the debris from the nucleus is a germ that shouldbe destroyed. This is not normal.

10 million Americans have a positive ANA. 1.5 million have lupus. 2-3 percent of people with lupus will have a negative ANA. The pattern that shows up under when the cells are treated with immunofluorescent dye is more important than the fact that the test is postive. Lupus will cause a speckeld pattern.

The ANA test is a titer. This means the number is how many times a sample of blood had to be diluted to come up with a sample that has no antinuclear antibodies in it. Typically the numbers will be 40, 80, 160, 320, 640 etc.
