Yes you can still perform a pregnancy test. However depending upon how far along into the pregnancy you are, there is a possibility that the pregnancy test may be performed too early. Your best bet would be to see your doctor now and have a pregnancy blood test performed known as the Quantitative beta HCG blood test which will measure the amount of HCG in your blood. Or alternatively go to A&E now and inform the accident & emergency department that you believe you may of been pregnant and are having a miscarriage. They will give you a thorough examination and perform the blood test I mentioned to see if you was pregnant hun. Good luck x

Well, 2 days ago i had a test done there and it came back negative, I waited a couple of days,,,still no period a breif spotting but nothing serious. took another one that i bought from walmart and BOTH came back positive. I WOULD NOT TRUST THEM,, and besides she the lady herself told me that they use dollar store tests...i dont trust that and nor will i go back...good luck to you!

I nkow many ppl who have had their period and where prego so the best advice is take a test n if ur still not for sure ask ur doc b cuz if u are preg n bleed n tht can also result in a miscarage. I do know that the best thing you could do, is get yourself off to a gynae. A blood test for starters will clear any questions of pregnancy, although I think you might have noticed some oher signs of that by now. There are many conditions that affect your period, such as Poly-cystic -ovarian syndrome, fibrocytis, and emdrometrosis. That depends on what you mean by five weeks. Five weeks past your last period can still show up negative, as there is not always sufficient Hcg levels in your urine to produce a positive result. The best suggestion I can offer is to wait another week, and if you still haven't had a period, then test again.

If you mean five weeks past ovulation, then a home pregnancy test should be very accurate, and you are probably not pregnant this time.

I don't know about that but you should know that an IUD prevent implantation of fertilized eggs so technically depending on your views, it could be considered abortion. So maybe you had some symptoms of pregnancy but then a negative because the IUD cause the egg to not attach to the uterine wall.
