Is it ok to get your lip waxed while pregnant?

She can, but it is not advisable. One of the not uncommon complications of piercings is infection. Some infections require treatment with antibiotics. Some antibiotics can cause problems for a developing fetus. Then there is the slight possibility of a major infection such as hepatitis, that could potentially end the life of the child and potentially the mother as well.

Be the mom. Don't be selfish. Think of the child you are carrying first and more than you do for yourself--the child is totally dependent upon you for this.

Is it safe to dye hair during pregnancy?

No one has enough information to promise with certainty that using chemical dyes during pregnancy is completely safe, so many pregnant women wait until after the first trimester. At the same time, no one has any human data to show these chemicals cause birth defects. Over the years, people have conducted animal studies trying to shed light on this matter. Some, but not all, studies have shown a few of the chemical compounds in hair dyes to be teratogenic (causing birth defects). However, in many cases the animals were exposed to extremely high doses of these chemicals, doses in no way equivalent to the exposure of the woman who colours her hair every month or two. Clearly, the chemicals in both permanent and semi-permanent hair dyes are not highly toxic. These chemicals have been around a long time, and no research shows they cause defects in newborns, so colouring your hair during pregnancy is probably safe. Plus, if you apply the dyes safely (using gloves in a well-ventilated room, and not leaving solutions on for excessive periods of time), you don't really absorb much of the chemicals into your system. One alternative you might consider is highlighting, painting, or frosting your hair. You absorb hair colouring agents into your system through your skin (scalp), not through your hair shaft. So, any process -- such as streaking -- that puts less of the chemical in contact with your scalp reduces your exposure to the compounds in dyes. Some experts recommend vegetable dyes as a good alternative to synthetic chemical agents during pregnancy. Many of these dyes also contain some of the same synthetic chemical compounds that the major cosmetic companies put in their permanent and semi-permanent dyes. Pure henna, which comes in a number of colours, is the exception. Henna is a semi-permanent vegetable dye considered to be very safe, though not everyone loves the hues it may impart! It's important for women to feel good about themselves during pregnancy. Whether colouring your hair will make you feel good or cause you to worry needlessly for nine months is something to think about. If you do colour your own hair while expecting, wear gloves and work in a well-ventilated space to minimise your exposure to the harsh chemicals used in the colouring process. What I would say is that "No" it is not good to wash hair while being pregenant!

Can pregnant women eat gouda cheese?

A lot of Swiss cheese is traditionally made from unpasturised milk and should therefore be avoided. If you check the label it will give you more information.

Yes it is safe to eat, all hard unpasturised cheese is perfectly safe to eat, soft cheese regardless of it being pasturised or not, isn't. its all to do with the moisture content that harbers the bacteria. the cheese isn't the problem its the bacteria from your unwashed salad in your home fridge that can causes the bacteria to grow on the cheese. If in doubt got to Waitrose their cheese specialists have qualifications and actually know what they are talking about unlike the medical profession who don't know and ill advise people into thinking because soft cheese is pasturised its ok and it isn't.

Is it safe to get your tongue pierced while pregnant?

IT IS NOT SAFE TO GET PIERCED WHILE PREGNANT!

If you go to a tattoo/piercing shop, one of the questions they ask before they'll touch you with a needle is "are you pregnant?"

When you get pierced, it's a puncture wound, which is something your body repair. Chances are is that it will end up being alright, but why take chances? Just wait the nine months and do it when there are no risks whatsoever.

From my opinion no. first of all, why would you even think of doing such a discuisting, stupid, and maybe even se*ual thing? Secondly, from what I've seen it is so gross and it makes your words unclear as if you were chewing tobacco. And last, if your pregnant, it will probably give you more pain than needed. That is, it's painful enough having a baby. And getting your toung pierced will probably hurt a lot more than having a baby. Take it from someone who cares about everyone in the world. P.S.- If you do get your toung pierced and still have it pierced as your child gets older, he/she will have bad influences on piercing thei body.
