At the age of 13, you are still considered a minor, therefore it would be best to ask your parents or a medical adviser/teacher at school. This would enable you to get an informed opinion without common myths included, and to not use harmful products.

A need for a lubricant in a young female can indicate that, either there is not enough foreplay, or her body is not mature and ready for this activity. Discuss with your doctor and have a gynecological exam to determine if your body is ready.

Once you have talked to a medical professional or other adult for correct information, the answer will depend on whether you are a male or female.

For males, there are a few lubricants made specifically for the purpose that you can obtain over the counter, however it does rely on personal preference and how much you want to spend on the products. Some males, when going solo, like to use an oil (such as baby oil), or lotion (fragrance free would be the better choice). Whereas, some prefer to just hop into the shower and use the good old soapy water. With a female partner, you must consider how the product will affect her body, too. Oils, lotions and soaps are not recommended for this use and can result in vaginal irritation or infection.

For these reasons, females should not use lubricants or oils that are not made specifically for the purpose of internal application. These can be unsafe for girls or women (baby oil or soaps, for example). Only products that are water soluble should be used for vaginal application. KY-jelly is a good choice, or there are, again, specific products for use available over the counter. If this is for self pleasure, and there will be no vaginal penetration, then baby oil could be used, but other products would still be a preference even for this use. Soaps, fragrances, and other products not for the purpose can cause irritation or infection. The vagina has some built-in protection against bacteria, but this can be bypassed if the pH is changed by improper product use or if the "good bacteria" are killed by soaps or products not for vaginal application.

This is possible. Sometimes not all menstrual blood gets flushed out during your period. You may notice flakes of dried blood in your urine for a couple of days after. It is nothing to be concerned about though.

If you have a tampon in for more than several hours at a time between changes, you are at risk for TSS. READ the info that comes in the tampon box people! You may be experiencing a 'growth spurt', which can occur during teen years -- sometimes before, sometimes after -- on most any part of the body. Growth spurts are totally normal.

Wash as often as you can with soap and water. Acne is caused when a build up of oil or bacteria holds a pore closed and the pore swells, so if you can keep your face clean, and pop the blockage off of acne you do develop, you will be better off.
