If the car is fully paid for, you get their notarized signature on the back of the title and re-register the car. Is notification required to repo a car in Montana?
Im not familiar with Montana but the states that I am familiar with usually try several times to contact you in reguards to curing this before resorting to repossessing ,and yes most times they will tell you that if you don't contact them they will repo your car .However I don't believe they are legally obligated to do so since you did sign a contract when you purchased your vehicle that stated what would occur if you went delinquent, besides its a common sense thing just use your head that is what its there for any way.
Can your car be repossessed if you hold the title?
Yes, if you took a loan out and used your car as collaterol, then it can be taken away. If you own the title free and clear, then it cannot be taken from you. Only if you owe money on it or the previous owner owes money on it. If the previous owner has an outstanding debt on the car and sells it to you without you knowing about the debt then the car can still be repo'd.
you can not return a car with in any amount of time unless the sale was made away from the dealership i.e. at your house if there was fraudulent behavior you might point that out to the dealership thay may be willing to take it back in lue of a legal battle
Ask the towing company who towed it
If you have the paperwork showing that you paid for the vehicle you should be able to go directly to the Department of Motor Vehicles or whatever it's called in your state, and petition for the title. Altenatively, if they trustee refuses to provide title, you can sue to get your money back from the estate.
They will try to follow you. They can get the car without you there. They are not allowed into your home. They can't physically hurt you to get the car, and they can't make you get out of a car, if the car is stolen, they will put a report in with the police and when they run the tags it will come back as stolen. If you just missed one payment, chances are if you called and talked to them, they won't come after you.
This could go either way because it depends on the contract you signed. Generally, I would say yes, because it is not likely that they would have financed the newer car without some sort of collateral provision (meaning the car is collateral for the loan). Unless, you paid for the newer car in full and do not owe any money on it. In that case, I would say no they probably do not have the provision needed to repo your car.

How long does a car title take to come back in IL?
Being that all automobile titles are transfered downstate to springfield, IL... the typical auto title takes anywhere from 4-8 weeks to get corrected and shipped back to the auto holders location. Depending on your whereabouts, this process may take much sooner. Dont forget about how many titles they have to transfer, its a long process but very little work.
no, if you have the title signed to you it is yours.
How do you put a car title in your name?
The person who the title is assigned to needs to sign the title over to you. You will also probably need a bill of sale to transfer ownership and there will need to be a dollar amount, so you can put down $1 to keep the taxes down. However I would call your local department of motor vehicles to see if you can transfer the title without a sale.
Can anyone purchase a used cars at a car auction?
yes and no
Most car auctions are dealer only auctions and require you to be a licensed car dealer to attend and purchase vehicles. some, however, are public auctions. Those tend to be more hype than anything else.
How do I buy a car when you owe on another?
Sometimes a friendly dealer will pay off the other car that you still owe on and take it in trade. If not, you have to make payments on both until they're both paid off. If the dealer takes your other vehicle in trade at a price less than you owe, you are responsible for paying the balance of the principal. If you want to buy an economy car and you now have a big SUV that the dealer doesn't want to take in trade, you have my sympathy. In that case, you have to try to sell the vehicle yourself that you don't want anymore at the best price you can get for it. Again, if it's less than your payoff balance, you must pay for your new car plus the remaining balance of the old one.
