If you catch up on your payments on a vehicle will they take it out of repo status?
I would think so, but you need to talk to the people who hold your note.
Can I trade a car that is in my husband's name and have the new car in my name?
The only way you'd be able to do that legally is to have been granted power of attorney for your husband. That's one of the things my ex-wife did with the PoA I gave her when I went to war.
What happens if you don't go to court when a creditor sues you?
generally speaking, if some one such as a creditor sues you to recover what is asked for in the summons and complaint. Your appearance is mandatory, unless you want to let the plaintiff to win by default, and gets everything he can convince the Judge he is entitled to by whatever proof is presented in court. Its never a good idea to just NOT appear. if you do not believe you can offer testimony to lessen the damages he is seeking, do what you will. why would you consider not going?? you think he'll win anyway? what if he says things that you can contest, but was not there, so he gets it all, like it or not!!!
Can a repo man enter a property like a garage an still take your car?
Not legally, its private property. They still will thou. If you can lock it from the inside most wont destroy property. If its unlocked say goodbye to your car. Even if the side door is unlocked they can go in and unlock it.
How do you find out the outstanding mortgage on a property that has been repossessed?
Anyone can find out the outstanding mortgage amount of a property, tax status, ownership history even lien and foreclosure information by property report. You can get an online report within few minutes on website such as www.nextace.com. All you need is the home address to start a search. If the report is available, you only pay a small fee to download.
Contact the police department where your car has been towed and stored at. In almost all cases it is illegal to hold personal property, not in anyway attached to the vehicle from the owner in a repossession situation. Local laws differ though, hence you should speak to local law enforcement. Once you've confirmed the law, and understand the EXACT procedure to getting your property back go to the repo yard during business hours, NICELY ask for your property back, if they refuse, out of compliance with the law, contact the police and ask for assistance. That should end the issue, if local laws support.
Be aware though that anything ATTACHED to the car, even if if didn't come with the car from the factory, cannot be removed. For example lets say you have a stereo with a detachable faceplate that you added, you cannot remove the faceplate. Further, for what advice is worth, in that example if you have the faceplate, returning it as a goodwill gesture (hey, I'll exchange the alarm remotes and stereo faceplate, please just let me have my stuff) may go a long way.

this show is obviously fake, no one ever gets hurt in the fights and notice when the police show up they have no patches on their sleeves that show a city and one of the cops was wearing a black police shirt with a fake badge and jeans and cowboy boots. Notice the police cars only say "police" on the side. This is so staged

What are your rights for buying back a repossessed vehicle?
It varies by state and by the company. Go back and read through your contracts. Usually you have to do it within 30 days. Some companies will let you catch up the payments, plus a repo fee and let you have the car back. I've also seen them tell a customer that they would have to pay the car in full to get it back. Good luck!
Can you remove factory equipment from a vehicle when it is getting repo?
That's a touchy situation. Chances are (depending on the finance co.) you will end up paying for the car anyway. If you rob parts off of the vehicle, it will bring less money at the auction, and you will have to pay the difference.
Heres how it works. You signed contracts saying you would pay the car in full. These bigger dealerships and finance companies will repo your car when you don't pay up. It varries by state, but in most states there is a law that says the company HAS to take the car to auction to try to recover their money. In almost all cases, the buyer is so upside down when they buy the car, that there is no way anyone at a dealer auction will pay what is owed for the car. Say you owe $7000 on the vehicle, it may only be worth $3000 at auction. They will come after you for the other $4000. I see this happen everyday. Also, alot of times the dealer/finance company will put such a high reserve on the car that they will get it back, and come after you for the entire amount. And if they happen to have a sister company (like the dealer I work for) the sister company will buy the car back dirt cheap, and they come after you for the balance.Yes, some how its legal! Good luck!
Talk to your finance company they will be able to tell you
