2004 Saturn what?? if it has electric power steering its and ion or vue, its under the hood in the fuse block on the drivers side, depending on the car, its a mini fuse or a j-case fuse, did you blow it when jump starting??

Repair of the power steering comes in two types: fuses blown and more serious stuff. Fuses blow: incorrect jumping of the ION can result in the power steering fuses blowing. Depending on the model, you will have either 1x60 fuse, or 2x30 fuses under the hood in the fuse box. Replace and voila: power steering! Other more serious stuff: my Saturn, however, had the more serious stuff. It appeared to be a short in the steering column which would result in the steering going out with a quiet click whenever the wheel was held in a certain position. Unfortunately, that position was straight ahead. I contacted GM about this and they would not help. Service requires the replacement of the steering column, at about $1000.

For the 2.2 liter, there are two. One is a pre catalytic converter sensor, and the other is post catalytic converter. They are very easy to access and replace.

Your oil isn't yellow, its a light brown/gold color as such with almost all new (unused/not dirty) oil. It just looks yellow because of the light.

Some Saturns have a problem with their ignition system. It just freezes up for no reason. You have to replace the ignition cylinder, and probably the ignition switch, too. I have an '06 Ion that just did that a couple weeks ago. I took it to a mechanic, and he had to call Saturn to find out what was wrong with it. They told him to replace the whole steering wheel column, but I found out later that I probably could have just done the ignition switch and cylinder. You have to buy the parts from Saturn, and get the ignition cylinder keyed by a locskmith.

It means you bought a piece of junk that will cause you problems as long as you own it..... Saturn buyers are only happy twice... once when you buy it and once when you sell it

I owned 3 saturns and i have been very pleased with them..i bought used and had each with high miles on it and they all lasted 5 yrs..now i did recently buy an 01 sl and i have a transmission prob which has been fixed..i bought it used and wasnt aware of the problem but i am overall very pleased

1.Press and release the trip/reset button until the OIL LIFE message is displayed.

2.Press and hold the trip/reset button until a chime sounds five times and RESET is displayed in the message center. When the system is reset, the odometer will again be displayed in the message center.

3.Turn the key OFF. If the CHG OIL message cames back on when you start the vehicle, the system has not reset. Repeat the procedure.

If you have changed the oil you just need to reset it. Push the trip/odometer button till the change oil is displayed. Then push and hold the trip button till it dings and says oil life reset Turn key off for 10 secs. and your done

my 2005 ion shakes while idling.. has done this ever since i got it in 2005

if it is the coupe with the 4 bolt pattern.. anything with a 4x100 pattern with back spacing of 30 to 45mm ... i currently have a set of 17x7.5 rims that came off a Honda civic on my 2005 ION 2 Coupe
