What determines justified stabbing in self defense?

To prove self defense you would have to prove that you genuinely felt that your life was in imminent danger and that the only alternative was to use a weapon to stop the assault. All the other evidence surrounding the circumstance would have to point in that direction as well such as witness statements, etc.

What can you do if you're too nervous to stand up for yourself?

If you never stand up for yourself, you are training to be a victim all your life. There are some systems of reality based self-defense that teach some relatively simple to do defensive and offensive moves that can be devastating to an attacker. If you know these moves well enough to use in a bad situation, it is a boost to your confidence, and you may even have the nerve to be assertive when necessary.

If you decide on learning a fighting system, consider learning one that utilizes dirty fighting tactics that are easy to do and does not take years of learning fancy fine motor skill moves to use. But, if you have no choice but to fight, use no more force than necessary to neutralize your opponent.

What is the meaning of self-defense?

Self defence is defending yourself in any way. It could be physically, emotionally....and much more. If you are looking at self defence internationally, then it is the actions taken by a person to prevent another person from causing harm to one's self, one's property or one's home. self defense is what u use when someone is either in a fight or someone is trying to either hurt or kill u. it is best to know self defense so you can self defend your self :-)!

Can you blind someone in self defense?

If you mean permanently blind an attacker, you should only resort to doing it if you are reasonably certain that you are in danger of grave bodily harm or death, have no avenue of retreat and escape, and if you can convince a judge and jury that you sincerely believed you were in danger of grave bodily harm or death. I do not recommend blinding an opponent unless you have absolutely no other way of stopping the attack. There are other less drastic tactics you can use unless you simply know nothing at all about fighting.

What is the toughest self defence arts?

Kung fu and Karate. Take it from me... I take both of them.

Can boys use self defense on girls?

Yes. Within reason. Using self defense does not always mean hitting or hitting back.

There are times when hitting back are appropriate but never good. Self defense is more than physically fighting back. Blocking and avoidance are also part of self defense. You can be bullied by either gender and young men often find themselves at odds when physically abused by a female. Note I did not use the term young lady since a "young Lady" never strikes a young gentleman.

Blocking and avoidance are good tactics when attacked and defensive retreat is nothing to be ashamed of. Bullies of either gender are wrong and adult intervention is the best way to handle this. I think Bad people consists of both male and female and each one has their own ways. In some cases when a young man or boy has better apearance or condition the other part taunts or starts something for a quarrel. Some ignorant guys without understanding the problem help the female too. Or when she is aquainted with martial arts she starts for little matters to fight or plans to show herself for people how bravely she fights. In one of Chinese or Cantonese martial arts I saw how a girl sexually abused a boy(by a trick) and caused an obscene scene ,despite he surrendered she wanted to himulate him. Some sites on net train females to hurt males. But most of the people think girls should be helped against guys.

Which part of the blood carries out the function of self defence?

If what you're asking is about hormones, then that would be adrenaline. You'll get stronger, faster, and, in some cases, tunnel vision.

Was the Boston masscure a masscore or was it self defense?

How do you make a weapon?

I would talk about melee weapons first then ranged weapons.

I'm not a blacksmith, but you can trust my ideas.

Sickle

Creating the Blade

1. You must have a furnace or a forge. Heat the metal (steel works well) to appropriate temperature. Heat for just enough time to be able to shape it easily. Take it out while you wear asbestos gloves.

2. Place the steel sheet on a blacksmith's anvil.

3. To create the elegant blade, use a factory-made steel cylinder. Press the steel onto the cylinder. Use a hammer to tap the metal to "wrap" the metal around the cylinder. Press the sickle blade to bend it outward to give the half-moon look. The blade should look like a small three-inch section of steel on the bottom, and a deadly, elegantly curved blade on the top. Then, if you want it flat, whack the top of the blade with hammer. If you fail to do this quick enough before the metal hardens, simply toss the metal back into the forge and redo it.

4.Quickly, with your asbestos gloves, hold the metal out the window. It will cool, with a hissing sound. Steps 2, 3, and 4 must be done very quickly to ensure success.

Making the Handle

1. Take stretch of twenty-inch long shark leather. Wrap it tightly around the straight edge of the blade manually.

2. Bound it tightly and taking the final nine or ten inches, poke it with a bendable needle (poke the leather with a thin, sharp knife if needed) and weave it through one opening in the wrap or leather. Then, poke the needle through, bend the needle through making sure the needle is not visible.

Congratulations! You created a Sickle! Let's move on.

Normal Blade

Making the Blade

1. Put the steel (use a plasma cutter for resizing the steel to half-inch thickness from side view and two inches from top view) in the forge, like you did for the sickle (Make sure it is one-and-a-half-feet long.). Basically, do step one for the sickle right now.

2. Next, use a sharpening knife and sharpen the edge of the blade. Pull it and push it into the sharp edge shape on all possible sides (keep sharp edge to two inches). Flatten the remaining sixteen inches of the blade if you want more cutting damage. This process must be done quickly.

Making the Handle

1. Take a steel block (1 1/2x1 1/2x9 inches) about an inch thick from side view. Toss it in the forge for the necessary time, except, keep it in there for another five minutes.

2. Take it out and place it on the anvil.

3. Wearing your asbestos gloves, grip the metal handle and hold it firmly. The metal will shape to you grip.

4. Cut a slit in the steel three inches deep with a stiff thin metal sheet two inches wide from top view and and half inch from side view. Make the slit wide enough for the blade to fit through, make sure it is a loose fit. Slip the blade into the slit to ensure that it was done correctly. Hold it outside after checking to cool. These metalworking processes must be done quickly, or failure to achieve the creation may follow.

5. Now, you need to weld the metal. Take a small amount of thick melted steel. Drip it into the gaps the sword left. Hold the sword upright (sharp end of blade pointing up)

Congrats! You have created a sword!

Battle Axe

Making the Blade

1. Take a quarter-inch sheet of steel metal (7x4). Toss it in your forge.

2. Take it out after enough time. Round the top (Top at length of 7 inches) with the cylinder used in the creation of the sickle. It should look as if parentheses would fit on the top.

3. Use the hammer to flatten the four-inch edge. Using a bendable metal sheet, cut a small 2x1 inch rectangle in the right side of the blade (the real cutting blade you made with the hammer should be facing left on the anvil.). Make the square about an inch from the right edge.

4. Hold the blade outside while wearing your asbestos gloves.

Assembly

5. Take a small wooden log 5 inches in circumference and one-and-a-half-feet in length/height. Cut a slit four inches long and one inch deep.

6. Jam the undisturbed four inch side into the the slit.

Attaching

7. Here's the hard part. Take a thick one-inch rope. Make sure it is four to five inches long and weave it through the rectangle. Tie it. The loose ends should be on the outside away from the blade, like a sideways U rotated clockwise 90 degrees.

Congrats! You made a Battle Axe! Let's continue.

Warhammer *This is relatively easy*

Hammer

1. Take a block of metal, any size desired. Put it in the forge for the necessary amount of time. Leave it to cool on the anvil.

Assembly

2. Then, stick a small log ten inches long and three inches (pinecone wood preferrably is what I use. You can choose.) in circumference.

Attaching

3. Put the metal block attached to the log outside. The metal will cool and fuse to the wood.

Congrats! You made a Warhammer! Let's move on to ranged weapons.

Classic Bow and Arrow

Bow

1. Take a piece of mulberry wood about a five-and-a-half feet long and three inches wide and one inch thick.

2. With a marker, mark out the shape and size desired. It may look like this; { or simply this; (

3. Carve it out carefully with a small blade. Use a sliding motion. It may take an hour or more based on expertees.

3. Create a tiny hole three millimeters in circumference. This will hold your string.

4. Cut notches to hold your string at the ends.

String

1. Take a thin strip of twine long enough to fit in your bow length. If your bow is two feet from edge to edge, the twine should be about two-and-a-quarter feet long.

2. Tie it. To secure them onto the notches, tie it like a shoelace knot. It should be straightforward. Ensure that you have tied it stiffly.

Arrow

1. Get some thin, pre-cut mullen wood. If needed, cut it yourself with a knife, and follow the sliding motion. Make sure that you make fine, thin cuts, and make the cuts as small as you can.

2. To fashion an arrowhead, take a block of juniper wood about 5x5x5 inches. The simplest arrowhead is simply a carved point on the front of the arrow shaft. You can whittle such a point with a knife and then fire harden it by gently heating it in coals (again, be careful not to burn or scorch the wood). Cut a hole one inch into the bottom of the arrowhead. (the base should look like this: /|_|\) Arrowheads can be made from metal, stone, glass, or bone.

3. Add the same base (/|_|\) to the bottom of the comepleted arrow, using the same fitting technique from Step 2.

EXTRAS

Fire Arrow

1. You can make a fire arrow. Do everything to make the arrow for the Classic one, but instead of a wooden base, make a metal one. It still must look like this: /|_|\

2. Drip some gasoline or kerosene around the tip. Light the arrow with a match. Flames should flare to life.

3. Shoot it. The target should catch fire violently.

Water Arrow

1. Do everything to make the Classic arrow, but attach a small balloon filled with freezing water. This will make your enemy injured and freezing cold. Just a little something I whipped up myself.

Double Arrow (technique)

1. Fashion two Classic arrows.

2. Make your hand into a 90 degree shape, bending down your fingers completely. Hold them between your fingers firmly (one arrow should be between the index and middle finger. The other should be between your middle finger and your ring finger.)

3. Pull back steadily until your fingers meet the /|_|\ base on the free end of the arrow and fire.

Congrats! You created the classic bow and arrow, and a multitude of melee weapons! I hope my info was helpful.

Can you perform self defense if you are on somebody elses propety but not tresspasing and they pull a weapon on you?

The instant that you are asked to leave and do not, you are trespassing. Laws vary from that point on as to whether or not the property owner can use force to make you leave.

Is two people beating one man inside their home with a tire iron considered self defense?

While each case is unique, likely as not this is not an example of self-defense. The requirements of a self-defense plea are simple: the victims is being attacked, the victim legitimately believes he cannot escape and has no other recourse but to respond to his attacker with equal or greater force necessary for the victim to subdue his attacker or escape. Of course it will always be up to a judge whether or not the force used sufficiently represents self-defense.

Punishment for gun self-defense?

In the U.S. generally speaking, if you are found to be acting in self defense when you shoot another person, there generally is no punishment. You may, depending on the circumstances, have to hire an attorney, and there have been cases where people appeared to have acted in self defense but went to jail anyway, but there are usually mitigating circumstances, or some sort of odd law.

Does Washington state have a self defense law?

In Washington State there is a self-defense argument (RCW 9A.16.020), which states when it is lawful to use force. This affirmative defense may be used when the defendant was preventing another from being injured by an assailant often referred to as "defense of others." There are other exceptions that involve detaining burglars and using force to subdue a mentally ill person from doing harm to themselves or others. An affirmative defense essentially allows the defendant to admit to the crime but also to explain the circumstances behind the event and to justify the use of force in their case.

You want to learn krav maga but not the light version that's for womens self defense you wanna learn the hard core version that they teach mossad officers any ideas?

Krav maga is not taught 'watered down' by qualified instructors. It is a straight forward art without any fluff.

To give you extra insight into your question on wanting to learn "hardcore Krav maga such as taught to Mossad any ideas".

Based on my own almost 10 years of Krav Maga training (26 years I am in self defese or full contact martial arts). I trained in a few different versions of Krav maga, became an krav maga instructor. (plus already 4th dan in Mugendo, full contact kick boxing for year, & do muay thai too)

I came across a very "hardcore" version of Krav Maga, I was impressed & I certified as instructor in this "version" of "hardcore" Krav Maga, developed by top expert in Israel called Itay Gil (This was 3 years before "Human Weapon" krav maga History Channel feature, which he appeared in). Itay Gil who was head of I.D.F. Krav Maga training, after he did 9 years active service in unit called Yamam, and still training the Duvdevan IDF unit in Krav Maga and I think the IDF version of navy seal (Sayreth 13, I think is name?) they all are trained in "hardcore krav maga".

A friend an associate of Itay Gil, who taught me combat shooting, (part of this style of krav maga instructor certification requirement) who severed in Israeli Special Unit Sayreth Duvdevan maybe 10+ years back, told me the Krav Maga traning was very "hardcore" & daily 2 - hours for 4 - 6 months, then training was montly "top up". Broken noses, KOs, injuries etc. The IDF Krav Maga Instructor who trained him was a son of famous Israel Martial Arts expert Dennis Hannover. Apparently the injury rate was so high from hardcore Krav Maga the very elite units learned was so high, up to 40% of those selected had to drop out due to injury. (open to correction on that figure), this units krav maga training IDF cut back to 4 months & 2 hours daily to stop the injury rate. (Remember these dudes Shoot!.. KM is a back up).

The civilian version is 90% similar syllabus, and it is very simple, very strike orientated, not many techniques, more improvised focused. However, Full Contact all out fighting and full contact attacks from weapons (rubber training knife, baton. gun disarms with gas power air soft guns). I also incorporate a lot of full contact sparring boxing etc, boxing Vs kickboxing with knees etc (and all out fighting non stop 1 min drills). Where I instruct my Krav Maga class, following the syllabus & ethos from Itay Gil.

How Hardcore? My Krav Maga class I treach, & train (only several of us small group)

I got ribs broken few weeks back during the above free fighting full contact drills (still trained on), yesterday was hard fighting with one guy very close to full knock out. Tomorrow is going be full contact Krav Maga knife defenses, & batons (using hard plastic heavy pipe... not a foam training baton). Black eyes are common. We ease off the hard hard stuff for a few weeks, then do at least 1 week a month full on, do or die.

That is the way Itay Gil's Krav Maga method is, that's what he teaches to Special IDF Units (see youtube etc.

Long answer because I the above is the only way I could give you you a fair full answer to your question. Compare the "hardcore" to other versions of Krav Maga and draw your own conclusions.

Final point, in martial arts in general, there is too much talk about "styles" in general view it like this, there is e.g. punches/strikes etc. E.g. in a real fight street self defense - it is either you or the criminal violent attacker. Only one of you will Win!

There is only 2 types of punch/strike -

1. A Bad Punch/Strike. they did not damage your attacker. (so your in danger now)

2. A Good Punch/Strike's which stunned, neutralized, injured your attacker so you can escape. (Your not a victim, your out of danger. You got a successful result.)

Styles - be it Krav Maga or other Reality Self Defense Martial Arts, it is not so much the style most have very similar punches/strikes etc , it is HOW you train that makes Krav maga good for the street. Hardcore full contact and also on street attack recreations and very aggressive mindset.

What are a crocodiles self defence mechanisms?

Crocodiles have many defense mechanisms, for which they are known. Listed below are a few.

  • The ability to bite. Crocodiles have more bite power than any other animal, exceeding 5000 psi.
  • The death roll - in which a crocodile bites down, hold on, and then rapidly spins its body. This usually causes limbs to be torn or the victim to become weak.
  • Hide-and-strike: the crocodile hides in the water and when a target passes it jumps out and strikes.

Crocodiles are responsible for more attacks than any other animals on earth, so it helps to follow crocodile precautions at all times.

Why is it legal to kill somone in self defense?

Generally, those who have killed in self-defense had no other option (other than to be killed themselves).

It's human nature to defend yourself from someone trying to harm you, and it's quite pointless of punishing someone for that.

If someone is trying to kill you, what are you going to do? Stand there and let it happen?
