Twin Towers were attacked by two planes, one was American Airlines Flight 11 and the other one was United Airlines Flight 175 which were used as Bombs and crashed into the North and South towers. Flight 11 crashed into North Tower and Flight 175 hit the South Tower. These were the two planes out of Four hijacked on Sept 11, 2011 by 19 Al-Qaeda Terrorists. It was a well coordinated largest terrorist attack ever happened on US Soil.

No children actually died in the towers since the daycare was on the first floor and was evacuated. But eight children were killed in total- five on Flight 77 which crashed into the Pentagon, and three on Flight 175 which crashed into the south tower. Most of those children were traveling with their parents so they died together; however, on Flight 77 there was a group of three middle school students who were going on a special trip to the Channel Islands. They were not with their parents because they were being chaperoned by their teachers. So the parents of those kids lost their children. Very sad.
