Here in Tennessee where I live if they are in very good condition they will bring about 150.00 Hey, Sawyer, why don't you go to Walmart or Gander Mountain and buy NEW utility grade single shots for about $89.95 instead of spending $150 for a USED Stevens product? I didn,t say I bought them for that, but because it is antique some people will pay that and I have even seen some of the nitro hunters even bring close to 300.oo

The name with "Tool Co" at the end was only used from 1887 - 1916.

I think Sawyer's estimate is a bit too high for a single shot Stevens product. But someone who has a particular need for a 16 gauge may go that high. In my part of the country, it's hard to give away a 16, but I've heard that in other places they bring a premium.

They are not that popular here for hunting but people who collect old shotguns here like the 16 gauge because its a little more rare, around here anyway,If you have some of those 16,s instead of giving them away just contact me.

From what I'm told the Model 50 is the same as a Savage Model 311.

there are a bunch of variables to this question, the history of the company is a little confusing, if it has mfg. stamped after the name than it is a pre 1889 gun which is worth a little more and also not considered a "gun" or firearm by law anymore, i have one also and from what i have looked up and taken the the shotgun to a gun library to have it looked at pricing around 350 bucks in good condition.

Parts for every firearm that I've ever owned, including stocks, are usually carried in stock by the manufacturer. That would be the first place I would try, at least as long as the gun is still being manufactured, or recently discontinued. In the manual for the last Ruger long gun I bought, a list of parts and prices was included in the owner's manual.

These have been out of manufacture for more than 40 years and when Sloan Sports quit the importation of these guns, their entire spare parts stock was sold to Garfield Guns of Garfield New Jersey. When Garfield Guns closed their doors several years ago, their entire stock of spare parts was sold to B&C Gunsmithing of Lake Havasu City AZ.

Modern Charles Daly guns were manufactured in Turkey and imported by KBI Inc.. Charles Daly (KBI) and ARMSCOR do not have spare parts for Miroku manufactured Charles Daly guns.

Update: KBI has closed its doors, leaving owners of the newest Charles Daly guns "high and dry". Unfortunately, there does not appear to be a good source for these parts...

Richland Arms was an importer in Blissfield, Michigan, until 1986. The guns they imported were mostly made in Spain or Italy. You probably have a replica of some Civil War era revolver.

If it's Blonde colored wood it's probably a Richland Arms Co. Kentucky style pistol. I have a Richland Arms Flintlock rifle called the MICHIGAN rifle in .45 cal. and a wonderful rifle.The arms are rare now and were inported in the 1960's to early 70's. I assume the company is out of buisness now as there's no info to be had on them. The Richland caplock rifles were dangerous so I'm told by a master gunsmith and a friend. The Yorktown was named for blowing off the drum, stripping the hammer and chipping wood out of the breech area. .

If it's a Stevens, these old guns aren't rare, and as gauge gets bigger, price seems to get smaller. A 12-gauge in average shape isn't worth much more than $75, and can often be had for $50. The .410 equivalent is worth at least $25 more in same condition.

Hi, I bought a Stevens single shot 20 guage shotgun in 1983. It was brand new as far as I knew, and I bought it from Gibson's Discount Center in Odessa,Tx. I locked my keys in my car a couple of years later and exchanged the shotgun for a key. I sure wished I would'nt have done that! Oh, by the way I only paid $50 for the gun. I put it on layaway and paid it off in 5 weeks. * Joshua Stevens stopped in 1886, but the company continued until 1916. Then, in 1920 Savage Arms purchased the name and manufacturing facilities and produced J. Stevens firearms until 1948. After 1948 the initial was dropped and the guns were marked "Stevens-Savage" or "Stevens Arms Co" until 1991 when the line was discontinued. In 1999 the name was re-introduced, but only on the Favorite rifle. No Stevens shotguns are currently being produced.

I own two JC Higgins bolt action tube magazine shotguns in 20 gauge. I paid $70 for one that I cut down to Shoot slugs and another I paid $60 for with a poly-choke. I like these old shotguns and watch shows for them all the time. 16 gauge seems to be the most common. And a gun in good shape usually runs what I paid, $60-$70 dollars

Look at the water table and under the chambers, your shotgun is probably stamped H over a Z in an oval with a crown above. If yes, it was manufactured by ZAMACOLA HERMANOS (RIP) previously located in EIBAR.

J.Stevens Arms and Tool Co - the company that made the gun Electrosteel - Stevens trade name to make you think it's better than others. Choke bored - Barrel is restricted at the muzzle to hold a tighter shot pattern.

If it is a 12 ga side by with a logo of a dog leaping through a circle and "WHIPPET" along with "H.S.B. & CO." it's a J. Stevens made for Hibbard, Spencer, Bartlett & Company of Chicago, Illinois. Likely comps to STEVENS 311, if it has no serial number it is pre 1968. It's a shooter with no collector value appx $150-$250 depending on condition, slightly less than the Stevens due to off brand production. I have the same gun in 30" 2 bead, full/mod and use it as a "Buddy" gun for trap range.

On the other hand, you need to know exactly the model you are dealing with. For example, an Iver Johnson Skeeter 16 gauge double is on the market right now at $4,500.

The old nitro hunter was made in the early part of the 20th century. Most of the guns that i have seen are pretty well used. The value of the shotgun is about the same value of a modern single barrel in the same condition. There is no real collectors value to speak of, for the old guns. A man told me that he had been offered 500.00 dollars for a Nitro hunter. I responded, "Thats where two fools met, He was a fool for offering and you were a fool for not taking it".

Might be a gun for fools with little retail value, but to some of us, this gun means something. The guns were bought for survival by old timers in this part of the country. That's why you probably won't find one in mint condition just like you won't find an old plow that is in mint condition. Lots of people have these guns as heirlooms. So, to use a cliche, that makes them "priceless" to some of us.

A JC Higgins won't have any collector value, and as a shooter you can figure about 1/2 to 2/3 of the price of new bolt action shotgun at Dick's or Walmart.The JC Higgins bolt action is old fashioned but probably better made than most of newer stuff there only few people out there who collect them but they are fine old guns.value 40 to 100 bucks the model 583 1101 is some what harder to come by

A SxS in useable but not like-new condition will bring between $100 and $250. A 20 gauge or .410 will be in the mid to upper part of that range and a 12 or 16 gauge in the lower to middle part.
