No, Nickalodeon is most certainly not cancelling SpongeBob. There have been childish rumors going around that a child went into the ocean looking for SpongeBob and drowned, resulting in Nickalodeon cancelling the cartoon, however, they are entirely untrue. This rumor first surfaced in 2002, and several versions of the rumor have developed since then, including (but not at all limited to) a 2-year-old boy who jumped off a cruise ship in search of the yellow sea creature, a 7-year-old girl who wandered off of the shore into a rip tide when looking for SpongeBob, and even a boy whose age isn't mentioned who dived off a pier to see him. Just looking at the many versions is a red flag. This rumor is pure baloney, so don't believe it.
It is not certain why the rumor was started, maybe to get others to pressure Nick into cancelling the show for fear of heavy lawsuit or boycotts. The rumor hasn't caused this to happen and isn't likely to in the future. According to many people, the rumor just recently made a comeback. In fact, I first heard about it only a few weeks ago in the locker room. I looked the rumor up on Snopes.com, a relatively reliable source, and it confirmed the rumor as PHONY.
Bottom line: DON'T BELIEVE IT. People make up these things all the time. When something sounds too absurd to be true, it probably is.

I would like to add to this- For several months I had been having longer, heavier, clotting and painful periods. I finally went and had an ultrasound at the advice of my OB/GYN and it turned out to be a fibroid/ polyp on my uterine wall. I had to have surgery (hysteroscopy and D&C) to have it removed and I have had no problems since. I know you are trying to avoid going to the doctor but I am SOOOO glad I did. I went from debilitating cramps and heavy clotting to practically normal periods in one day surgery. It's not cheap (surgery never is) but it was worth every penny to me.
