Why doesn't Spore work on your Mac mini?
Spore needs a pretty strong system to support it. Newer Mac mini's can do it. Elsewhere a user reported "The only way it will run on my Mac mini (it is stock, NO hacks) is if my display is set to 800 x 600 and 75mhz, given that, I've logged hours of entertainment with my son on Spore."
The Mac mini is not a laptop. No laptop, regardless of design, can support this game unless it is fairly new.

To find "Steve" You have to get to the galactic core of the universe. It's smack dab in the middle, in case you didn't know. Once you get there, zoom in to the galactic core using the mouse wheel, and you'll get a 3 minute speech by Steve, who offers you a contract for a hotel on Earth (3rd rock from Sol he says LOL!) He also gives you the staff of life. It Turns any planet, any single one, from its current terrascore, to a perfect T3.
Also... There's a species who guards the core, the infamous Grox.
They kill anyone who comes within 3 parsecs of their planets. They guard the entire outer core of the center. You can do one of the following:
1. Tough it out, kill the grox, spread a path to the center with your empire.
2. Ally the Grox.
Allying the Grox is not easy. But neither is killing them. I allied them. Here's the procedure, as well as some do's and don'ts:
ALLYING THE GROX
1. First, get the concorer 5 badge OR the colonist 5 badge. for the concerer, you need to concer 50 planets. If your a colonist, place 100 colony buildings. You should unlock the planet buster. Buy about 4-6. Blow up some planets nearby the Grox. You should notice the next time you visit the Grox, that they are now in the orange happy face, noting that they are not your arch enemy, but they dislike your empire.
2. Next, get diplomant 5 badge. You should unlock EMBASSY. Place on on their planets. This should get +10 points.
3. After that, complete missions for them until your in +50 with missions. If you fail a mission, they'll hate you forever. (Here's how to abort a mission with out them hating you: Go to my collections, click missions, go to the mission you wish to abort, click the trash can, click OK.) After you finish enough missions, you'll notice that you're in the yellow happy face. Don't be surprised if they keep shooting you. They'll shoot your ship until you ally them.
4. Next, give them large sums of money. (The chat for a lot of money is moremoney--You can enter a cheat by pushing the following: Shift, Ctrl, C.) They should be safely in the blue happy face after that.
5. If you're not yet in the green happy face, don't ask to ally. They'll say no. If you're still in the blue, use SUPER HAPPY RAY on them until they are in the green. Then ask to ally.
WARNINGS: YOU MAY FIND YOURSELF IN A TON OF FRUSTRATION. DONT WORRY. I WAS TOO. ANYWAYS, ONCE YOU ALLY THE GROX, EVERYONE YOU KNOW IN THE ENTIRE GALAXY AND EVERYONE YOU WILL MEET WILL GET AN AUTOMATIC -200 HAPPY FACE FOR ALLYING THE GROX.
Here are the do's and don'ts:
Do: Become a Shaman. You'll automatically get a plus 10 from the grox for gracious greeter super power which helped me a lot. Plus, after you're done at the center, it's really hard to get out. Shaman's also get RETURN TICKET. Go to any planet, use it, and you'll get straight home.
Don't: Terraform their planets. Do not do not do not it will kill them and it will be -50 for you.
Do: Turn your auto-blaster off. If you don't, you'll blow up their spaceships... and that's not very nice.
Don't: Do the above procedure in any other order. Don't know why, but it changes results.
Do: Delete missions that are too hard. But don't go straight to the Grox and tell them it's too hard. They tend to get mad. (To see how to abort missions and not piss the person off, see ALLYING THE GROX #3.
Don't: ask for a trade route. They don't get mad, but they never accept and I quote:
"It would thin our forces sending them that distance"
Don't: Shoot the Grox. You may say: "well duh!" But... You may concider doing this as your planets get attacked every 30 seconds from another species that hates you for allying the grox. If you shoot them, they still hate you for that. Which makes the entire universe your enemy.
Once allied, the Grox won't even care if you're on their planet. You can go straight to the core, talk to Steve, get the staff of life, and come out unscratched.

I live in British Columbia, Canada, and volunteer for a Women's Abuse Center. If the woman is battered in any way "shoved, pushed until they fall down" or there is a constant threat in her environment with her partner that's a good reason to seek help from a Women's Abuse Center. If the person is physically harming you such as hitting, slapping, splitting your lip, broken bones, bad bruising from punching you, missing teeth and you are in fear for your own safety or your children's safety this too is highly considered. You don't need proof of a complaint to police. Women of abuse "have that look" and most of it know it when we see it. A counselor will talk to you and ask you questions. If you have children they will be looked after out in a play room. It's best to be honest with the counselor about what is going on in your personal life and don't be embarrassed. It happens to a lot of women and we hear it all the time. You need to find out from them what your legal rights are, and if you should be put into a "safe house" or "transition house" where you will be safe. Once there you will need to apply yourself and there will be chores to do, plus you MUST attend programs that they give to women as it teached the victim why they were abused, to give them strength not to go back to their abuser and also know the signs of a man you might meet that could be abusive. Many abused women will go back to their abuser or they will pick another abusive mate, only because they have low self esteem. Some Centers will also give legal counsel, go to court with you and also counselors will help you find work so you can become more independent. Good luck Marcy
