While most airmail stamps tend to be worth a bit more then regular issue stamps these are the most common and are valued at 15 or 20 cents mint or used, the minimum amount required to catalog and stock the stamps. Unused will always be worth at least their face value. Special cancellations and different values are likely to be worth more. Consult a postage stamp catalog, usually available at your local library for exact identification and catalog values.

This stamp is Scott number 1845. It can be purchased for about 20 cents used and in mint condition.

The face value of the 1975 Christmas stamps were ten cents each. Many people collect these types of unique stamps.

Both the United States and Great Britain have issued stamps with stars in them recently. The British "Sky at Night" series includes two 72 cent varieties. I have no indications that they were mis-identified originally, but that doesn't mean that they weren't. I also seem to recall a similar incident with a New Zealand stamp. I'll keep looking!

Yes. They are also free to sell them for less than face value or "what they are worth." If you buy large amounts at a time, one can often buy postage for under face value via certain unnamed internet auction sites.

In the US a first class stamp cost 5 cents in the US. A postcard cost 4 cents. It went to 6 cents in January of 1968.

Very little. These replicas have a layer of gold on the foil that is an atom or two thick. It is not really measurable and it would take thousands of them to make an amount worth anything. You might be able to get a $1 or two.

Postage for first class was set at 33 cents in 2000. A post card cost 20 cents.

In 1840 the the Penny Black stamp was issued. This was the first stamp in the world.

Scott number US 993 issued in 1950 for the Railroad Engineers of America. It can be purchased for 50 cents in mint condition and 15 cents used.

Oliver Wendell Holmes, Sr. (the poet), married Amelia Lee Jackson. They had three children as follows:

1. Oliver Wendell Holmes, Jr. (the Supreme Court Justice)...he married Fannie Bowditch Dixwell and they had no children.

2. Amelia Jackson Holmes....she married John Turner Sargent and they too were childless.

3. Edward Jackson Holmes, Sr....he married Henrietta Goddard Wigglesworth and they had only one child, Edward Jackson Holmes, Jr. or "Ned" as he was known.

Edward Jackson Holmes, Jr., the only grandchild of Oliver Wendell Holmes, Sr., married Mary Stacy Beaman, who was my great grandmother's sister. They unfortunately had no children and thus, Ned Jr. was the end of the Holmes line.

That is very possible. It usually is caused when the dies used for stamping the coins start to wear out. The image on the die becomes mushy and starts showing double images -- especially around the letters and numbers. I could also be cause by "chattering" -- when the coin blank bounces around a little bit while being stamped. In either case these coins have no significant value.

The US ten cent Christmas stamps have minimal value. But if it isn't US, what country issued it, whether they are used or mint, and their condition all affect value. Consult a stamp catalog for the country in question and identify the stamp. It will also assist you in finding the value.

George Washington is one of the most common subjects on US stamps. It will take some detective work to narrow down the search. Use a catalog online or through your local library to identify the specific item. It will also provide an estimated value.

No they are not Forever stamps. They were issued in 2006 and have a value of 39 cents.
