Lower left side back pain and left side abdomen?

If it hurts more with bending and twisting, it is most likely muscle-related. It it hurts when someone pushes on your abdomen, but not when you bend or twist, then it is more apt to be internal. There are hernias that can cause a bulging in the area you indicate, but I doubt that a hernia in the front-side of your abdomen would be a cause of back pain, unless you have more than one thing going on... If this continues, or begins to get worse, then I strongly suggest you be seen by your family doctor for possible Xrays, etc and surgical referral...

What happens if you really bad stomach pains?

Lie down for an hour and relax. Don't do any activities even if you feel better. Make sure you feel better for good or you'll make yourself even more sick. Place a cool moist washrag over your forehead and watch tv and just relax. Breathe slowly and evenly, trying to keep your mind off of the pain. Listen to some music if you get sleepy. Enjoy a nice Ginger Beer/Ale - The ginger helps calm down the stomach! Sip a glass of iced water slowly or warm/hot water. Eat crackers or toast. Sometimes stomach aches are caused by too much acid floating around in your stomach with nothing to do. These foods will help absorb the acid to make things a little more comfortable. Also, sipping a glass of water will help to dilute the acid in your stomach. Drinking milk can neutralize the acid in your stomach too, but be careful as too much of a thicker substance, such as milk, can cause the stomach ache to worsen. You may also just be hungry! Lie on your left side for 5 minutes on a comfortable couch or bed to see whether it will allow you to burp. This is because the stomach is on the left side of the body and the esophagus enters the stomach on the right. So, the bubbles of gas can rise to that entry point and make a burp possible. Loud noises that could start a headache will only worsen a stomach ache. Drinking black coffee tends to aid the digestive process. (sometimes it does the opposite though and can make the stomach ache worse) Try carbonated beverages such as ginger ale, carbonated mineral water , or tonic water (with quinine, it tastes good and it works!) always drinking dairy products, though if the stomach ache is being caused by not enough acid inside the stomach, it is a great idea to drink milk which is a base and neutralizes acid. Place an ice cube above, on, or below your belly button and lie down. This may numb the pain temporarily. Use a hot water bottle pressed to your abdomen, but be careful it's not so hot that it burns you. Try taking a warm bath and relaxing for a little bit in the tub. Sit down comfortably and bring your knees up to your chest and stay like that for a minute or two. When you stretch your legs out again, do so slowly.

Why is my abdomen tender to the touch?

The range of reasons a person might experience abdominal tenderness are as broad as the individual's meaning of the word "tenderness." In the worst case scenario, abdominal tenderness (pain) can be life-threatening and therefore requires immediate medical attention in the form of 911 or presentation to the local emergency room. The underlying cause of abdominal pain can be anything from abdominal aortic aneurysm to appendicitis, with many other options from which to choose. In other words, acute or immediate onset abdominal pain of unclear etiology isn't one of those conditions you want to ask your internet pals about. Go to the emergency room instead, particularly if there is fever, board-rigidity of the abdominal muscles, the presence of blood either vomited or in the stool/urine, the marked absence of bowel movements, a history of ulcer disease or colon disorders, gallbladder problems, pain between the shoulder blades, neck/chest/shoulder pain, dizziness/weakness/sweating/confusion, if you think you might be pregnant, or have experienced a direct blow/trauma of some type. On the other hand, if the "tenderness" is colicky, recurrent, waxing and waning, related to diet, or some other mild but annoying pain, it still needs to be checked out by a licensed medical professional. Don't mess around with abdominal pain. It's true that your tender abdomen could just be constipation or sore muscles, not thought of as life-stoppers. But, there are so many other things to rule out that at least a call to the local hospital nurse line is warranted. Most insurance companies now have a nurse line. or you can call the local hospital in your area. Just last year, the author knew someone who had a husband opposed to medical care and therefore refused to seek treatment for his abdominal pain, despite the severity. Less than 10 days later, he was deceased from a perforated duodenal ulcer. He literally sat in his chair at home and bled to death. The take-home message is to seek the level of treatment appropriate for any abdominal tenderness/pain. What is a tumor?

A cell that keeps dividingA tumor is an abnormal growth of tissue resulting from uncontrolled, progressive multiplication of cells and serving no physiological function; a neoplasm. Can cause cancer!
The term "Tumor" derives from latin, and dates back to the time of Hypocrates, Father of the Hypocratic Oath, and who most historians credit with the formation of the Medical Theory. Unfortunately, Hypocrates didn't have the same knowledge we have today (he thought the brain was a mucus secreting organ, given its slimy texture and proximity to the nose!). In his day, illness was "rated" using the following terms: "Tumor" which equalled swelling "Callor" which was an indication of how red an injury was and, "Dolor" which was an indication of the heat produced by an injury. Early physicians considered the presence of all three of these to be a reliable indicator of an illness or an injury (turns out, they were on to something here! Ever twist your ankle? You had all three!) These days you don't hear much about Callor and Dolor, but we do here "Tumor". Unfortunately, it's true meaning has been subverted by the presence of Cancer in our lives, and many people think the two terms are equal. In reality, not all tumors are cancer, and not all cancers form tumors (think Leukemia). A tumor is really just a swelling of tissue where tissue is not usually swollen. Does that mean if you have a sore throat and your mom checks your "glands" and finds them swollen that you have a tumor? not really, just localized swelling caused by an infection.
a big thing that hurts, sometimes cancerous , sometimes not (malignant or benign)
Tumor refers to an abnormal growth of tissue, whether benign or malignant.

Can upper stomach pain and being bloated mean that you are pregnant?

No. Taking a pregnancy test and having it come out positive means you're pregnant. If you have taken a pregnancy test and are not pregnant, then you still have a lump, but it is because of something else. That something could be nothing, it could be a harmless but ugly cyst, or it could be a malignant tumor. I'm not trying to frighten you, I'm just trying to make you realize you need to be in a doctor's office.
