How do you kill jumping little mites found in your home that look like black pepper?
A fumigant or try Diatomaceous Earth (DE). Spread it in the carpet and on fabrics like the couch. Vacuum it up after a few days. DE causes tics, fleas, and mites to dehydrate and die. You may need to repeat either method several times a week or two apart because there are very likely eggs that haven't hatched yet.
Why does my swimming pool pressure drop after a few minutes?
If the clarity of your water is hazy/cloudy or green, then that is the nature of a diatomaceous earth filter. They filter down so small that they build up back-pressure quicker than other filters. This should also be reflected when you backwash the filter as you will see dirty water coming out. If your pool water is not cloudy or green you may be adding too much DE when you charge the system. You may have air being introduced into the system. Lubricate the O-Ring under your pump lid with Teflon-based grease and examine the lid itself for hairline cracks. Also check the pump pot (housing) for cracks.

get someone that can scuba dive to look around for visible tears/cracks. diver will take a dye substance (food coloring for example) and squeeze it near the suspected area. if it gets visibly sucked into the tear/crack, you've located a problem spot.
Before you hire a professional leak locator see if you can deduce where you might be losing water. Abnormally high chlorine levels can cause pipes and plastic weir skimmers to crack and leak. (Does the water level fall below the water outlet ports in the pool?) Abnormally low calcium hardness levels can cause paint to chip by leaching calcium from grout and concrete which may enable water to permeate the pool walls or floor. You can also pressure test the circulation pipes to rule that possibility out (don't overdo it with the pressure). You may have recently noticed a sudden change in your pressure gauges which might indicate a compromised circulation pipe. You may notice signs of settling or cracking in deck areas or building foundations which may indicate settling due to water leaks.

We were looking to build our own indoor pool - there are seemingly no experts that cover the construction, humidity concerns etc... My best reference was the internet and about 400 hours plus. I grew up with a pool, ran a pool - including maintenance - but always outdoors. I looked for postings in the end in which people were asking for help with specific problems ie leaks, mold, shifting etc... so I could troubleshoot. I am not so sure. I have found that swimming in the sea definitley raises my blood pressure. The older you get, the more you notice this.

If your assumption is that the salt in the pool water is causing high blood pressure (like a high salt diet), then the answer is definitely, no.
The amount of salt in a saltwater treated pool is very low (around 0.5%, which is one-half of one-percent). This concentration of salt is about half as much as a teardrop (1%) and nearly eight times less than sea water (3.75%).
And since the salt in the water can't be absorbed through your skin, you would have to drink a LOT of pool water while you're swimming to intake any significant level of salt.
I'm not a doctor, but I would like to suggest that everyone eat right, exercise, and see a doctor if you think you have high blood pressure.

Basically, this is the procedure :
- First you need a hook. The circle hook is the best. This is a small hook that looks like a "C".
- Next you need fishing line or monofilament. This comes in light weight "4-8 lb test" to heavy "30-75 lb test". Get around "15-20 lb. test".
- If you have money you should think about purchasing a rod and reel. If you don't have money, you can wrap the line around a soda can.
- Next you need bait. Most ocean fish like squid - it's known as the "candy of the sea". If you are fishing in fresh water you need worms, bread grasshoppers or whatever is around in the fishing store.
- In order to get the hook and bait out to deeper water where the fish are, you may need a weight. You can use an old spark plug or two, or purchase lead sinkers from the fishing store.
- Tie a loop 18-20 inches from the end of the line, and slip the weight on (or tie it on).
- Tie the hook on the very end of the line and put your bait on it. While squid is good, you can also use clam, small crabs, small fish from the bait shop, shrimp, or various insects or worms. Live bait is best when you can get it.
- Swing the line around, or overhead, and throw the hook, line, and sinker into the water.
- Wait. (this is normally the lengthy period in the activity, so you may want to have something to quietly do, read, or contemplate)
- When you feel a tug on the line, take up the slack to put a strain on the line. If you feel more tugs, start wrapping up the line (around the can or reel),and pull the hook up. There might be a fish on the hook or there might not be. This is fishing. Catching is another thing. You may have to bait the hook and throw it out there many times. But sooner or later, you will catch a fish.
When you do succeed, you may want to think about making an investment in a decent rod and reel. If you know someone who fishes, you may be able to buy a used rig. If you have some money, go to the store and ask the salesman what you should buy. But don't spend a lot of money the first time. $50 should do it for your first equipment. Get a cheap plastic fishing box where you can put your weights, hooks and other gear. You can really learn how to fish if you go out with someone who knows how to fish. The party boats are really great. The crew will help you, and you will surely catch fish on the boat. Buy some books, visit the library, or peruse fishing sites online.
