Lucy Elizabeth Jefferson was born on May 8, 1782, and died on October 13, 1784, at the age of two and a half. The cause of death was whooping cough, and it happened while her father was away in France. She was the sixth child of Martha Wayles Skelton Jefferson and Thomas Jefferson.
