I read somewhere that your tubes grow back after 5 years is that true? and if so what are the chances of gettin pregnant again after that? I am proof that they do grow back. On May 21, 2004 I had my son by c-section and also had a tubal done at the same time. I got pregnant but ended up miscarrying. I had to have a bunch of tests done and they found that my left fallopian tube that had 2.2 cm cut out had come "untied" and grown back together. It does happen, I'm proof of it.

It depends. You have to go through extensive screening with a qualified doctor. The younger you are, the more extensive the screening. It also depends on why you want to have your tubes tied.

Generally, there aren't any good doctors who will tie the tubes of any female under 35 unless the female in question has health problems which would make having her tubes tied a necessity.

When I got my tubes tied my doc warned me about getting tubal pregnancies. You might want to check it out. It could just be the fact that you got your tubes tied. My periods haven't been the same since I got mine tied. yes, i had my tubal and 4 months later my period was 2 months late...i had negative tests...i went to the dr and he said that it was normal, but if it goes beyond 2 months and you are having symptoms, then tests needed to be ran or medication to start your period..he said that even if you have a tubal pregnancy, that you will most likely have a positive test..

Not sure about the exact odds, but I just met a woman 3 nights ago who had her 4th child 12 years after her tubal. That's not good enough odds for me! I'm doing essure or we're both getting snipped!!!

Tubal ligation is the blocking or tying of the fallopian tubes whereas oopherectomy is the removal of one or both ovaries. It is normal these days to have salpingo (removal of tubes) - oopherectomy as the medical psoffession now believe that some cancers are started in the fallopian tubes so they tend to take them out at same time

You have two choices. First, you could get a tubal reversal. You would need to get a copy of your operative report and find out how much of your tubes were burned. Then fax this to a tubal reversal expert and they can tell you whether you are a candidate for a reversal. If not then your second choice would be IVF. They would remove eggs from your ovaries, fertilize them with the sperm of your choice :) and then place the embryos in your uterus. Sounds easy, but its involves lots of meds and money.

I had a tubal ligation done 3 years after my daughter was born. I had my period last month and I am now late this month. I have been tired, crampy and breasts are tender. The chance of pregnancy following tubal ligation (burning, cutting, clipping, tying) is very small - but since our body's are designed to heal - it occasionally happens. The chance of this happening actually goes up slightly over the years. But it is still very rare.

No. there is no way of performing the operation without risk to the unborn baby. Many are performed during c-sections or immediatley after birth or months after birth. its a very serious operation that has a very low reversablitly rate, and should be considered permanent.

For Depro-Provera users prior to TL, you may have irregular bleeding patterns. Speak to your doctor with any concerns, and always be alert to the possiblity of that 1% failure rate! Hope this helps. The depo shot is very effective when taken alone. If you are also taking spermicide, although nothing but abstinence is 100%, I think you are pretty close, provided that the spermicide is also taken as instructed. i.e., 15 minutes before intercourse but not longer than one hour, unless it's VCF (vaginal contraceptive film) which must be taken at least 25 minutes prior to intercourse and can last as long as 3 hours.
