When does Darien remember he is Tuxedo Mask?
In the original Japanese episode 26/English dub episode 22, Mamoru [Darien] awakens from a dream where he is Tuxedo Mask. He wonders if he is Tuxedo Mask, and gets his answer later in the episode, after he acquires the Orange Rainbow Crystal.
After the events of the first season, Mamoru loses his memory of being Prince Endymion or Tuxedo Mask. However, he regains his memories, including those of the identity of Sailor Moon, in Japanese episode 59/English dub episode 53. From that point forward, he only appears as Tuxedo Mask or Prince Endymion, never again as Moonlight Knight.

Most places that you would be able to rent a Tuxedo nowadays require either a hefty cash deposit or a credit card number on file. If one fails to return the garment than you are not able to retrieve your deposit or your credit card would be billed for the value of the garment. It's not the end of the world but you will probably end up paying between one and two times the price of the tux for the store to replace it as well as the inconvenience of not being able to rent that tux to another customer.
In some cases, much like a library book you may be charged a fine per day until it is returned up to a point (probably somewhere from a week to a month) when it is considered missing and they would simply charge you the full value.

Why did tuxedo mask leave the sailor scouts?
Well, technically, he was never an official Sailor Scout. He did stop fighting with them a few times, though, and this is why:
The first time he stopped helping them, it was during the first season and because he was captured and brain-washed by Queen Beryl.
The second time it happened, it was because he had amnesia. In the original version of the story, he and the Sailor scouts had all died in the fight against Beryl and were resurrected by the power of the Imperium Silver Crystal. In both the original and the English versions of the story, though, he and the other Sailor scouts all lost their memories after the fight. (It should be noted, though, that Darien's soul returned to help the Sailor Scouts even when he had amnesia. This was in the form on the Moonlight Knight, who was an astral projection of Darien's.)
The third time it happened, it was because Darien had temporarily broken up with Serena. He had been having nightmares that staying with him would get her killed, and he believed them for a little while. It should be noted that, at least in the manga, Darien actually DID have some psychic powers. It turned out that the dreams were being caused by something else, though, so he got back together with Serena after finding out they weren't based on any actual reality.
In the Stars season, it was because he had travelled to America to go to medical school. Not only did this hurt Usagi a lot, he was killed by Galaxia while he was there. Again, though, the power of Sailor Moon's crystal eventually allowed him to return to life.
There might have been some other times when Tuxedo Mask stopped helping the scouts, but I've forgotten when they were.
Can you wear a long purple tie with a black tuxedo and no cumberbunn?

The short answer: Go to a store that sells tuxedos. Most menswear places carry them. Alternatively, if you know your jacket and pants sizes, shop online for greater selection.
The longer answer: The most classic tuxedo would have one button and "peak" or "shawl" lapels. More modern variants might have two buttons and a "notch" lapel. Three buttons is too many.
Modern tuxedo vests are too high-cut. Black cummerbunds are preferable. Bow ties should be black and self-tying; clip-on bow ties are strictly for male strippers.
Naturally, the jacket and pants should be black. Midnight blue is also correct, but quite rare today. Off-white or ivory jackets are acceptable in the summer and in tropical climates.
The shirt should be white cotton. The collar can be turndown or wing; modern wing collars are shorter and less impressive than their detached-collar ancestors, so the turndown collar is advisable. The front can be pleated or piqué, which is a waffle-like weave of cotton. Cufflinks must be worn; studs should be worn unless the buttons are covered ("placket front.")

In the anime, Mamoru/Damien 'died' via Galaxia when she attacked the airplane he was on during the beginning events of the Sailor Stars. His Star Seed (the golden one in the anime) was stolen from him, thus rendering him in a dead coma-like trance.
After the events in the anime, his Star Seed is returned to him at the end, waking him up and successfully 'reviving' him.
Not sure about Manga.

The age of Tuxedo Mask depends on whether you're talking about the anime or the manga.
In the anime, he is stated to be in college and working various jobs part-time; this would put him at least at age 18, especially considering we see Mamoru driving a car and operating a motorcycle, something one would have to be at least 18 in Japan to do (note: Haruka/Sailor Uranus does it when she's clearly too young too; she makes a joke of it by claiming she as an international driving license).
In the manga, he goes to Moto Azabu High School and shows his ID to Usagi during a chance encounter on the bus, revealing he is a second-year student, putting him at about age 16-17.
In both the anime and manga, he departs for the United States to attend Harvard University in the fifth and final arc of the series. In the final episode, Usagi says she is a first-year high school student and 16 years old (most likely putting her at the end of her first year), which would mean Mamoru is at least 20 in the anime by series' end.
