How is Hippa guidelines related to medical transcription and transcription reports?

Health care is a rapidly changing industry. The recent Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) rules and regulations reflect this change. www dot spectramedi dot com, the U.S. based Medical Transcription Services, believes that these final regulations represent a significant opportunity for the healthcare industry in the US to become extensively more efficient and cost-effective, while ensuring the privacy, confidentiality and security of clients' data. By simplifying the administration of the system and enabling health care businesses to be conducted electronically in a standardized manner, these regulations will offer enormous financial benefits to healthcare enterprises individually, and to the U. S. Healthcare system over all.

In the United States there is no degree or certification needed for the medical billing field although that may change in the future once the governing bodies get a firm grip on the coding industry.

There is nothing that says to be a medical coder that you have to earn a degree or become certified in the profession. However, if this field is what you are going to basing your career on then you should become certified through either AHIMA or the AAPC. This will show that you are a very competent coder, that you are aware of and are on top of all the current coding changes and that you are dedicated to the profession which all leads to more money in your pocket when you are looking for employment.

Also gaining certificates of completion or certifications in HIPAA, Workman's Compensation, etc. will greatly increase your earning potential as a coder because it shows that you go above and beyond what most people in the industry know.

Hospitals usually require certification such as the CPC. However, doctor's offices will hire without certification. It alls starts with quality education.

What is prominent endometrial echo?

Since you didn't specify, I can only guess you mean uterine "prominent endometrial echo". If you mean cardiac, I can't help so much.

It generally means that the endometrium (lining of the uterus) has a thickened appearance on an pelvic ultrasound. In and of itself, it is a pretty nonspecific finding, and further testing may have to be done to determine a cause.

Hope this helps.

You are 5wks today you had an vaginal ultrasound but NO sac was seen your HCG level is 1305 and you are going to do another test tomorrow you are so worried Has anyone experienced this Please help?

I just had this happen. I am 4-5 weeks and had a vaginal ultrasound and nothing showed. The ultrasound specialist, radiologist, er dr and an obgyn all told me that's normal around this time. I went back for bloodwork the next day and my HCG levels doubled. Good Luck. =) They have my "official" ultrasound scheduled at about 10 weeks.

The answer to both questions is no. The GYN can't tell, and ultrasound can only see changes if you're pregnant now or were pregnant in the last couple of weeks, at the most.

It can be one of two things either you are not far enough along for the baby to appear on ultrasound or you have miscarried, which in that case you would have been made aware of when they did the ultrasound.

Can a safe home delivery be done if you're a first-time mom with a low risk pregnancy with the baby in the normal position but you don't have a phone or vehicle and no other human nearby?

No other human nearby... no, its not safe. If you had a doula or a mid-wife or even a friend or relative that had witnessed births before you might be on the safer side, but to be alone is not safe. Even people in underdeveloped countries have others around them for support, medical assistance and emergencies. You may become so overwhelmed with pain that you might be delirious or you could pass out. Its dangerous for you and your child. At least look into getting a midwife. Contact Birthright 1-800-550-4900, http://www.birthright.org The organization will help you find a free clinic or doctor for your pre-natal care and transportation and assistance when it comes time for delivery. You should have someone to help you. Whether it is a midwife or your husband, someone needs to be there in case of emergeny or it isn't safe. Make sure the person helping has studied up on it with you. I don't know the law in every state in the US but in the UK it is illegal for a mother to give birth without a registered midwife or a medical practitioner in attendance, except in an emergency.

Can you take medication before getting a pelvic ultrasound?

There are normally no restrictions on eating and drinking before a pelvic ultrasound, except for the requirement to have a full bladder. Call the radiology department you plan to use and ask for advice specific to your situation.

Why is abdominal ultrasound used after abdominal trauma is suspected?

internal bleeding from injured abdominal organs is often the most serious threat to survival. Neither the injuries nor the bleeding may be immediately apparent. Ultrasound is very useful as an initial scan when abdominal trauma is suspected

Scan showed as 8 weeks 6 days and no heartbeat but my womb is tilted what are the chances they got it wrong?

I'm not sure what the chances are per se, but there are many cases of misdiagnosed missed miscarriages, especially with tilted uteruses. You might want to take a look at the website www.misdiagnosedmiscarriage.com, which has a number of stories of women whose babies' heartbeats were not found until much later in the pregnancy -- in one case, not until Week 13.

Hope this is helpful and that the doctors are wrong in your case.

Do all surgical tech jobs require the same type of schooling or is it specific for each job?

What does GAEDD mean on a ultrasound picture?

I'm not an expert, but in Obstetrics GA usually refers to gestational age, and EDD usually is Estimated/Expected Date of Delivery, so I think it probably means the gestational age is consistent with the expected date of delivery.

Where do you apply the ultrasound?

To check on the little peanut, below the belly button and as it gets bigger all over that big round buddah belly, that's when it is the hottest (and no I am not joking) you lay on your back and you literally can't see your feet cause that big old round belly is completely blocking your sight.
