How do you get fast rank in the army?

The easiest way to get promoted quickly in the US Army is to be a model soldier, know you job, show up on time for formations, excel in Physical Fitness and want the rank (dont be a cry baby) pick and choose your fights. It is always best to request additional duties or responsibilities, this shows your leaders that you can handle the additional work load. When it comes to promotion from E-4 Specialist to E-5 Sergeant it is self motivated and self paced, you have to learn and memorize the promotion study guide, all the US Army programs and be ready for the next higher pay grade. On average it should only take someone about 2 1/2 years from the time of enlistment to reach E-5 Sergeant. Taking college courses is always best because it shows that you can manage your time while off duty and that you are trying to better yourself personally and professionally, also you can take Army Correspondence Courses. Promotions in the US Army are typically faster than any other branch in the military being that we are the largest fighting force and have a higher demand for up and coming leaders.
