Who built the temple square in Utah?
Temple Square has been built and remodeled over time, but it was built by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Brigham Young selected the site a few days after the Mormon Pioneers arrived in the area, in July 1847. Since then buildings have been built and torn down, all centered around the temple.
The Temple, which is the center of the square, took over 40 years to build (completed in 1893). It's construction was begun by Brigham Young, but it was not completed until Wilford Woodruff was President of the Church.
