For pads and rotors all around, the price should be around $600. If you go to the dealer you most likely will pay more. Probably you have a bad tie rod (maybe both). You can find it on eBay (around $50.00 L&R).

Knocking when turning on front wheel drive is most likely the knuckle on the axle. Look at the rubber boot on the end and I will bet it is split.

Proceed as follows to reset the service reminder indicator of your 2004 S60 :

Ignition position I

Press and hold in the reset button for the trip odometer

Turn the key to position II within 2 seconds.

Keep holding the reset button for the trip meter pressed in until a yellow lamp lights then reset button must be released.

Release the reset button for the trip odometer within 4 seconds. The instrument gives an audible signal when resetting has succeeded

If the trip meter is already reset the reset button should be held in for a minimum of 10 seconds and a maximum of 14 seconds.

If the reset button for the trip odometer is not released within 4 seconds and before the light stops flashing, the service reminder indicator is not reset.

I own a 1991 Mercedes and was well overdue for new brakes. Upon inspection, I had three cross threaded wheel bolts. If you have this problem on an older car with long seemingly impossible bolts like me, I have the answer. The head broke off of two of the bolts so any normal attempt through drilling of pounding or wrenching wouldn't work. Simply loosen all wheel bolts that you can and attach a chain with a hook to the rim of the car youre fixing and the other end of the chain to a truck or strong car and rip that sucker off. F.y.i. you'll need a replacement rim more than likely. Good luck, most shops charge a LOT.

The battery is located in the trunk in all Volvo s60's.It's very easy.Open the trunk, Lift up the mat, and to the left you will see a black cover. There you will need a 10mm or 13mm key to unscrew 3 bolt's. then lift the cover up.Now you will se the battery. On the left of the battery there is a metal bracket locking the battery with one bolt. losen that, and remove the airing hose from the battery. And unscew the poles with a 10mm.

Pull your tires off, Remove the two bolts holding on your Caliper, pull your calipers off and remove the old pads, Press your calipers back using a C clamp or something making sure your break fluid doesn't run over, then put it back together. repeat for the other side.

Not neccesarilly,the attachment clamp on the back side of the handle may have come apart or damaged. The handle is part of the panel, not attached to the door.Pop the cover off the arm for the door,remove two Allen bollts.Remove triangle piece,front upper part of panel. use a putty knife to pop out the panel,these are plastic snap screws,just press them back in holes when done.
