Well for businesses a web page it the most cost effective means of reaching your buying public. More and more consumers are searching for service and product providers via the Internet. Having a web page allows the prospective client see you, your shop and your products and services without sales pressure and without changing out of there PJ's. It's amazing how the computer and a cup of good dark roast coffee and good search engine can bring customers into your business. Again it's that first impression that can drive people to make decisions. Be it a web page looking for work or a web page of favoured sporting activities, these are ways we can reach out to those who are browsing or actively looking to make new connections. Internet explorer has a search engine built into it but it is not considered a search engine. It is a web browser that opens the web so you can choose a search engine.

Apparently - it's a 'price comparison' web-site - it wont work with my browser (I use Google Chrome) - but it appears you tell it what products you're searching for and it goes off looking for prices from different suppliers. It's an 'add-on' so if it keeps appearing on your computer - someone must have installed it.

You should be able to get rid of it by accessing the 'add/remove programs' feature in control panel.

SuperFish is especially underhanded and sneaky, and sometimes won't show up in Add/Remove Programs or within the list of Chrome extensions. This adware "hitches a ride" with other extensions, both in Chrome and Firefox. One underhanded extension is called "Translate Selection". Check out:

Depends on what browser you're using. If you are using Google Chrome, press Shift+Ctrl+B to open the bookmarks bar.

Text based browsers, such as Lynx, w3m, etc

It's a protocol that enables communication between computers and servers.

You really don't *need* to keep ANY cookies once you are done browsing. They basically do two things. One, they hold on to certain information, for example when you choose something like "Remember my email address". They can also save other information to make your experience more convenient the next time you visit a web site.

The other purpose is more important, especially for when you are logged in to something like Hotmail or your on-line banking. The cookie is saving information about your session so you can remain logged in to do your business. :) It's not saving confidential information, just session id information. That way, when you click from page to page, you remain logged in.

If you deleted all of the cookies now, you would not harm anything. But you would notice that for your favorite web sites, for example WikiAnswers, you would need to re-enter your screen name and password instead of it being remembered.

If the list of cookies is short enough, you can select the few to keep that represent log-in information that you would not have to re-enter. But many cookies have no value other than for online ads.

IE9 will, but it runs on Windows Vista and Windows 7 only, so the other platform will not support well.
